Here's my entry to the BeerSaturday 375 with a beer from Quebec microbrewery L'Apothicaire (The Apothecary). It's a light blond ale, perfect after setting up camp in the rain and the sun comes back out (see my post Wednesday Walk Challenge: Sentier du Marais, Lac Simon (Québec) to see some photos of this campsite).

Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 375 avec une bière de la microbrasserie québécoise L'Apothicaire. Il s'agit d'une ale blonde légère, parfait après avoir installé un campement sous la pluie et que le soleil revient (voir mon post Wednesday Walk Challenge : Sentier du Marais, Lac Simon (Québec) pour voir un peu de photos de ce camping).

Here is the map of Quebec where I can show you precisely the location of the brewery. L'Apothicaire is located in St-Jacques de Montcalm, not far from Montreal. It's an area I'm not too familiar with, so maybe it's time to take a look* 😀.

📜 Brewery / Brasserie :

L'Apothicaire was founded in 2020 in the Lanaudière region in Quebec by Dave Bérard and Louis Rocheleau. Not being fans of IPAs, they wanted to brew more malty, somewhat traditional beers. This brewery also stands out for the design of its larger cans with an old newspaper style, see BeerSaturday week 276.

Cette brasserie se distingue aussi par le design de ces canettes de plus grand formant avec un style de vieux journaux, voir BeerSaturday week 276.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

The Ale Blonde Light with only 3.5% alcohol is a light-drinking beer, perfect for summer. In the glass (which I hadn't seen had a few ashes at the bottom 😤), we have a beautiful transparent straw-yellow color topped by a thick white collar. On the palate, it's light and refreshing, a thirst-quenching beer, perfect for ending a hot summer's day.

La Ale Blonde Light avec seulement 3,5% d'alcool est une bière légère à boire, parfaite pour l'été. Dans le verre (dont je n'avais pas vu qu'il y avait quelques cendres au fond 😤 ), nous avons une belle robe jaune paille transparente surmontée d'un épais col blanc. En bouche, c'est une bière légère et rafraichissante, une bière de soif, parfaite pour pour terminer une chaude journée d'été.

Design

Typically, the design of l'Apothicaire cans is close to an old newspaper, with the name of the beer mixed in with fantastic stories from the past. This is due to the 2 co-owners' interest in fantasy literature, mythology and especially the writer H.P. Lovecraft. But in this small format, only 355ml, it's rather traditional, without anything extraordinary.

Généralement, le design des canettes de l'Apothicaire est proche d'un vieux journal avec le nom de la bière mélangée à des histoires fantastiques passées. Cela est dû à l'intérêt des 2 copropriétaires à la littérature fantastique, la mythologie et surtout de l'écrivain H.P. Lovecraft. Mais sur ce petit format, seulement 355ml, c'est plutôt traditionnel, sans rien d'extraordinaire.
