source
Youth Crime is also know as juvenile offending and it is the act by which a youth participate in an unlawful behavior, as a minor or individual that is younger than the set statutory age.
Youths commit crimes that ranged from status offenses which are;
1 Truancy
2 Sexual offenses
3 Cybercrimes
4 Violating a curfew or underage drinking 3 3 Smoking to more serious offenses called property crimes and
5 Violent crimes
Situational factors that caused youth crime
The most influencing factors that causes youth crimes are to be caused by both the genetic and the environmental factors.
According to the Adolescence Book wrote by Laurence Steinberg's, he said the the two largest causes of Youth Crimes are parenting style and peer group association
.
1. Peer influence
This is called Peer rejection in a childhood
, it is a large cause of Youth crime. This affects the child's ability from socializing properly and mostly leads to gravitate in anti-social peer groups.
2. School to prison pipeline
It is a the common contributor to youth crime and it rates is a situation that is referred to as the school to prison pipeline. And it has increased the school disciplinary policed in the last year. This is a disproportionately problem that affects the minority students.
3. Family environment
This factors have influenced the Youths in several ways which are;
1 The quality of the parent-child relationship
2 The way parents discipline a child
3 Parental conflict or separation
4 The level of parental supervision
5 Parental abuse or neglect
6 Criminal activity by parents or siblings
In all the above mentioned, parenting style is one of the largest cause of the youth crimes.
Below are the four (3) parenting styles which is used to describe the attitudes and behaviours that most parents exhibit while raising up their children.
1. Authoritative parenting:
It is identify by the amiability and support in inclusion to discipline.
2. Indulgent parenting:
This is also identified by the warmth and evaluate respecting their children but, lacks the structure and discipline.
3 Authoritarian parenting:
This is identified by the high rate of discipline that is without the warmth therefore, it lead to many hostile demeanor and harsh correction.
In conclusion, I think the Juvenile should reform the youth crimes and also, look deal with the vocational programs and educational approach in other to reduce recidivism rates of Youth crimes.
Thanks for passing by, hope this will help us
Too indulgent in parenting is also not good, I agree with your explanation, I also suggest applying balance in educating, I mean don't be too restrained.
I have no doubts these crimes are done by youth, and I agree with the fact environments contribute largely to this crime. thanks for the write up, i enjoyed reading

I consider peer pressure and environmental settings as very big constraints in the development of a youth into a noble figure. There is always a reaction to an action
Nice one man
Laurence Steinberg isn´t wrong when he said parenting styles and peer group association are major causes of youth crimes. This parenting styles are to be used in the right way and not too much or in excess so it doesn´t affect a child from running away from home or doing bad things.
Discipline is now becoming a thing of the past and that is a trend that we need to change as soon as possible. People are getting more and more unruly and with a system that is not operating as it should, things are not looking hopeful either.
But we shall see as it all turns out.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
