About my failed startup.

This post is about how I wanted to build a fintech platform that solved platforms but failed.

it was a beautiful monday morning, in the month of december and my birthday was just around the corner, I was 20 years old turning 21 the following months, something happened to me that made me sad, my head was spinning in a bad way thinking about a solution that I couldn't find, but then a new fresh idea came in.

What really happened to me was that I was scammed online, I wanted to get a laptop to start learning software developing, but this guy acted as well as a laptop dealer to escape with my hard earned money, All my savings disappeared.

I always wanted to be a software developer so badly, to have the ability to turn ideas into something amazing, i see developers as people who have superpowers, My problem was that I didn't have the money to enroll in software development schools or buy online courses, but what I used was some free video content on YouTube.

After trying to call the fake salesman who turned out to be scammers for almost a week, i was angry and upset i promise myself not to be in this kind of mess again, i embark on researching how to avoid online scammers.... I found something called escrow.

An escrow is a mediator that acts between the seller and the buyer to transact business, i did a search again on how to build an escrow, then i found something that gave me an idea.

After all the necessary research was done, since I am not yet a developer I have to hire someone to work on the project, i called it TrustedArea.

I started reaching out to some claim developers that i have on my lists, the funny thing is that the amount they were going to charge was such that i couldn't believe my ears.

I almost gave up hope of building TrustArea, until one of those software developers I reached out to called me, he was trying to negotiate with me, but the funds he was asking for didn't even exist, so I made him another deal to become a co-founder of TrustArea so that I could reduce the costs of the project, he accepted the offer.

He started building, nobody tells me that building something needs major funding even though I tried to make it in such a way to make it easy for me, i spent every little penny on this project, till i was empty.

This was the moment when I started to tell Trustarea to people and how it will help people to transact without fears online, i did it because I needed funds to buy web space.

Some came to like the ideas, and things started to go smoothly, but not all, until I came to this man I saw online because of his activity and I think he has interest in this kind of things...

my instinct was right the man was really into it...

He asked me, "what has lead me to the project and how far we've come... I told him everything.

He replied that he would like to invest in the project and that he would also inform his friends about the project, which they would also love, i was very happy that my prayers were fulfilled until 23 October.

we met to talk about Trustarea and, luckily for me, two of his friends came to the meeting, it was my first online meeting.

There were four of us in the meeting my developer who is the co-founder and the man and his two friends.

After all the discussion two men liked the project and wanted to invest, the money was enough to get the project going and to promote it so that people can start using it.

They both promised to send us some paperwork from their lawyers, so far they haven't sent anything and they haven't even respond to messages either, that's how i lost them.

My plans is to build my portfolio on Hive.
