Weekend Engagement 201 - From Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers To Homeowners

Hello dear Hive friends, happy Sunday and have a great weekend. In this Weekend Engagement 201st week, I am interested in discussing the topic "Explain one time in which you excelled, worked hard and achieved a great result". This is a story about my life journey after graduating from college. A journey full of challenges, rejections, and also triumphs.

When I had just taken off my toga and earned my bachelor's degree, I felt like I was on top of the world. However, the reality I faced afterward was far from what I imagined. Finding a job wasn't easy, let alone one that matched my major. I felt like I was in a maze without a map, trying to find my way out.

To pass the time and earn some income, I decided to become an online motorcycle taxi driver. Not a few people sneered and made fun of me. Some even said I was just living in my sister's house. I felt hurt, but I knew I had to keep fighting.

It's not that I don't want to work for a big company with a high salary. However, competition in the working world is fierce, and nepotism is commonplace. Without an 'insider', it was difficult to get a job.

I kept looking for jobs and sending applications to various companies, but none of them called me for an interview. However, as the saying goes, after the rain there must be a rainbow.

One day, I met someone who changed my life. He was a passenger who had ordered my ojek. He was a very nice person and until now we are close friends. He invited me to join the bitcointalk forum and join the bounty program. I started learning about the world of cryptocurrency and as it turned out, this was the way out of the maze I was looking for.

In 2017, when the value of cryptocurrency was on the rise, I earned enough to pay off my motorcycle loan and buy a new motorcycle for my sister. As it turned out, being an online motorcycle taxi driver was not the end of the world, but the beginning of something new.

Shortly after that, I got a job at the Social Service. He was also the one who helped me work at the social service. I also started investing part of my salary in crypto. In 2021, I managed to buy a house from my investment. Although the house was not luxurious and was located in the suburbs, for me, this was a very meaningful achievement.
