Why the rabbit have long ears (literature)
One day, Uncle Rabbit, tired of constantly escaping from his attackers due to his small size and weak strength, built a ladder and went to heaven to visit the Supreme Being. While there, he asked the lord to make him bigger and stronger to have a chance to defend himself against his enemies.
Papa Dios would please his wishes, as long as uncle rabbit brought him some very peculiar parcels, among which were: a savannah snake, an alligator fang, a lion's hair and seven tiger tears.
Uncle Rabbit agreed, and went down to earth again in search of his orders.
Already on earth, using his tricks, he dedicated himself to looking for what was requested. First, he armed himself with a guitar and a club, began to sing outside Uncle Caiman's burrow, and when he came out annoyed by the noise, he pulled out a fang with a club, and jumping up and down, he disappeared into the undergrowth.
Then, he went to the sabanera's burrow, to which he told him that she would not be able (due to her large size) to get completely inside a small cover that he brought with him; the snake, very vain, entered so that uncle rabbit could verify that she (despite her volume) had the necessary elasticity to do so. With the sabanera inside, uncle rabbit closed the container.
He continued like this, until (through cunning) he managed to get everything he asked for and reassembled the ladder to go up to heaven to deliver the parcel.
Papa Dios, seeing him arrive, told him that he gave each animal certain virtues. To the tiger and the lion he gave fierceness and courage, to the sabanera speed and strength, to the alligator sharp fangs... and to uncle rabbit, he did not give any of this, but he gave him cunning and intelligence to escape the dangers of the earth, and prudence, which is the strength of the weak.
However, noting that uncle rabbit was not satisfied, the Almighty grabbed him by the ears (to make him bigger), and returned him to the earth; since then, uncle rabbit has long ears.
This traditional legend teaches us that not all of us are endowed with the same virtues, and not all of us have the same defects. However, we are all capable of solving problems and situations of a different nature, using the talents and virtues that have been given to us.
