Brawl Result and Opening Gladius Cases
Today is the day to increase my collection of Gladiator cards in Splinterlands since another Brawl has come to an end and I received a good amount of merits in it, along with the merits I got by opening Loot Chests this season, so it's time to buy Gladius Cases.
My earnings in this Brawl were 82.10 SPS and 8,110 Merits with my guild Anti Social Club taking fourth place on the leaderboard. I contributed 12 points by winning 4 battles and I took sixteenth place among the members who participated in the Brawl and this is not a position I'm proud of because I usually finish in the top 10, but it was still good earnings and I intend to improve my results next time because if I had won 2 more battles our guild would have taken third place.
I think one of the reasons my results have decreased is because I am filling silver league frays instead of diamond league and I am not used to this league so I don't have very good strategies for battles, but I will develop some so that I don't have doubts during card selection and also so that I have better results. The reason I am filling silver league frays is because I want to use my Soulbounds cards more often so that I can get used to them and since they are currently at silver league level, silver league frays are perfect since I will face cards of the same level as them.
BATTLE
In this battle I was testing Commander Slade and Halfling Refugee, in fact I was testing Commander Slade more because Halfling Refugee is only at level 1 and the reason I used him was because I only had 1 mana to select my last monster and he was the best choice.
In my opinion, Commander Slade is one of the best Soulbounds cards currently available because he has a powerful attack and a great chance to dodge attacks from my opponent's monsters. He will also reduce the melee attack of the monster he attacks by -1 and will also not be affected by the damage from the Thorns ability. At maximum level, he becomes even better because he has an even stronger attack and will also cause damage when dodging attacks since he will have the Backfire ability.
One of the best strategies in Splinterlands is to make your opponent miss their attacks and you can believe that Commander Slade will be the right choice for that.
Now let's open some Gladius Cases and increase my collection of Gladiator cards.
With the merits I accumulated this week, I managed to open 10 Gladius Cases and this was my result. I'm saving money by not using Blood Stones or Power Stones since I want to open as many Gladius Cases as possible and if I were to add them to the packs I would have to spend +740 merits per pack buying 5 Blood Stones + 5 Power Stones, so I'll leave them to use in the future when I need Gold Foil Gladiator cards or am just missing legendary cards to complete my Soulbounds card collection at maximum level.
