Sketch Diary 08: Lovely Gumamela

I haven't drawn anything this week because I was sick and I didn't feel like doing anything, but tonight I did a random sketch and decided to use some markers and colored pencils to color it.

In the past, I tried drawing a rose, but this time I decided to go tropical and draw this cute and lovely flower. I haven't really drawn a lot of flowers, so I just played and had fun with this one.

I originally planned on creating more flowers, but I decided against it as I started coloring the main subject.

I used my markers for the base color, then just added more details using colored pencils later on.

As mentioned above, I just filled the background with a blue marker... and since my markers almost dried up, I just fill the rest with random colors using my colored pencils.

I also added some highlights using white acrylic paint since my white pen isn't working. hahaha

I pre-ordered some markers online, so I'm excited to use them. It's been years since I last bought coloring materials, so I'm looking forward to receiving them. They're just cheap markers, but still... it's exciting and I can't wait to practice more using them.

Of course, I'd continue painting when I have more time and share either here or my main account... I just want to collect my practice sketches here. :)

I hope you like my lovely gumamela... well, it's hibiscus in most places. :) See you around! (^^,)/

The appearance of the flowers is very beautiful, similar to real flowers that grow on the tree.
