PERSEVERANCE: THE KEY TO MY SUCCESS

Perseverance is one of the most powerful tools. we as individuals should possess and cultivate, it is not just about not giving up, the concept of perseverance is the engine that drives success, personal growth, and resilience in the face of adversity. As a Nigerian born we all face adversities from personal life, academic stress , work life, and even from our government. One Of the key aspects of perseverance is recognizing that setbacks are not failures, they are merely stepping stones on our path to success. As a person who possesses the trait of perseverance, you know that every time you fall, you have the opportunity to learn, grow and come back stronger.

In this modern times perseverance is just as important,whether it's a student striving for academic success, a father striving for his family, an entrepreneur building a new business from scratch. The ability to persist in the face of adversity is what separates those who succeed from those who give up. As Nigerians would say “WE MOVE”, IN NIGERIA I THINK WE ALL POSSESS THIS SUPER POWER CALLED PERSEVERANCE.

Oftentimes people talk about “overnight successes” which me as individual do not believe in, but more often than not, those successes are result of years of hard work or failures, take the man that invented the light bulb 💡 💡 for example he persevered and now he is the father of light bulbs 😂😂. To persevere it requires hard work,filled with trials, failures, rejections, tears, errors, and unwavering commitment to a GOAL. This blog examines the power of perseverance through my story, navigating the trials and tribulations of my life.

CULTIVATING PERSEVERANCE
Developing perseverance requires a conscious EFFORT. It starts with setting clear, realistic goals and maintaining focus on them,even when distractions and challenges arise. Small, incremental progress is the key 🗝️ 🗝️.

MY STORY

I gained admission in 2016, to one of the prestigious universities in Nigeria, to study PROJECT MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY, Which was not what I applied for. As a child I have always wanted to study engineering, Mechanical engineering to be precise. I accepted the admission, went to school and BOOM 💥 💥, on getting to school I received the shock of my life from fellow students, i got laughed at because i am studying project management, some would even say, what are you supposed to do after graduation and then laughed 😂 😂 😂. GOD!! I was laughed at, teased at, some even said the course was irrelevant. But I refused to let their words affect me, my perseverance spirit was activated instead. I purposed in my heart that I would be one of the best and would make the best out of this course I was given. I never gave up despite the laughing, teasing, challenges of life, even from close friends.
As the years passed I persevered, read my books , did all that was necessary, set achievable goals, which I achieved. And now I am a graduate of PROJECT MANAGEMENT, a course that now everyone wants to study, with one of the best results in my school. The power of perseverance was my super power to achieve success in my academics.

HOW CAN I CULTIVATE PERSEVERANCE:

• EMBRACE CONTINUOUS LEARNING.
• SET SHORT TERM GOALS.
• BUILD SUPPORT NETWORK
• STAY OPEN TO NEW OPPORTUNITIES.
• FOCUS ON PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION.
• TRUST THE PROCESS.

Perseverance is your greatest asset, keep learning, keep growing, and keep pushing forward, because every challenge you face would bring you one step closer to your goals
