A Messy End to Hollywood's Power Couple

For years, I have followed the Brangelina drama with bated breath, and golly, what a spectacular ride it has been. When I first heard about Angelina dropping her fraud suit against the FBI, I felt relief and anguish simultaneously.

Having gone through a seriously messy breakup myself, I sympathize with the urge for retribution when one feels wronged.

However, at some point, one must ask, how fruitful is this?

Is perpetuating this long-dragging legal battle merely serving the purpose of the well-being of their children?

These allegations against Brad are extensive, violence, verbal abuse, even pouring beer on Angelina. It's hardly imaginable to reconcile such an image with the lovable actor who has, time and time again, captivated us. Here's the rub, we simply do not know what actually transpired aboard that flight, and most probably never will.

While we know that the feud has gone on for way too long, I cannot imagine the toll of eight years of divorce proceedings on a family. This most certainly includes the trauma that legal battles impart, especially where innocent children are stuck between two families at daggers drawn.

I'm glad Angelina finally dropped the lawsuit.

Neutral ground will hopefully allow for some healing, even if tiny. But what's next? Can they ever truly peacefully co-parent? Or will there always be whiffs of accusations hanging over their relationship?

One thing is for sure and that's the fairytale couple in Hollywood is no longer. And maybe that is alright. Maybe both deserve to rise and go their separate ways to focus on their careers and children, and keep the past safely in the past.
