My personal Reflection; Happiness & My Life on Radio
Hello Beautiful and Awesome Reflectors
As a philosophy graduate,I find a radio job intriguing due to its potential to explore and communicate ideas, engage in meaningful conversations, and contribute to public discourse. Radio allows for the expression of philosophical perspectives, fostering critical thinking and communication skills, which are valuable in both philosophy, broadcasting and other humans endeavors
My life on air has practically given me the opportunity to do what I love, what makes me happy as well as what makes other people happy. The Radio gave me the platform to express my thoughts and the most beautiful of them all is the fact that people feel safe to hear you speak. On air, you grow into being people's favorite thoughts and opinions. You influence people positively and with that positive influence, they develop some kind of love that seems sometimes unexplainable.
On Saturday while we had technical issues in the studio, we went live a little late (15 mins). We then decided to open the phone lines for both the caller's to participate at the same time as we give updates. I was pretty quiet since my co-host was still doing the updates, then a call came in. My co-host took the call and automatically the caller went straight to ask why I wasn't on the show today. I responded swiftly that I am very much around and the happiness he expressed made me think a little deep about my life on air.
There is nothing more satisfying than when a person discovers what they are good at, what they can be good at or what they feel the urge to challenge themselves within. Something that makes you a better person, brings the best version of who you are and also puts you out there for the global world to get acquainted with the skills and talent that nature and time has blessed you with. But the most important thing about what anyone does in life is the place of happiness; does that thing you do make you happy?
The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle in his book titled Nicomachean Ethics, expressed that every craft and every line of action and inquiry, likewise every action and decision seems to seek some good. Aristotle believed that the greatest good to which anyone can sort after is Happiness because happiness is a kind of good that is purely good in itself and not termed good because of anything else.
As passionately as I have challenged myself, reading, writing and communicating my thoughts have always been something that makes me happy. Reason being that with these three means, you can teach people a lot of things that could change their lives, views and perceptions about things. But also very importantly, you stand a chance to acquire more knowledge, build more on the vast capacity of your understanding for good futuristic endeavors.
My life on air is what I describe as living a dream. A space where people are happy because they listen to you and you are also happy because you get to hear from people out there. The goal has always remained to keep improving and keep making people happy.
You did really well. And the fact you found such experience thrilling on air is something beautiful. Hopefully you prioritize your happiness in every aspect of life too. From #dreemport.
