First ever Mandala Art| Creative Sunday

Mandala means 'circle', designed to aid in the practice of meditation and originated in the first century BCE in India.

As many of you may know from seeing my different creative ideas every Sunday, that I love to explore new creative things. On my journey to find new creative things I found this Mandela art this week. This is something that caught my attention. I have done a little history study on what mandala art actually is and its origins. What I found is that it is commonly used in India to mark a spiritual place. I loved the design and simplicity of this art so I decided to give it a try.

Material

• Sketchbook
• Black pointer
• Compass
• Pencil

To start the design I made a horizontal and a verticle line in the middle of page to mark the center of the page and then made a small circle and large circle from the mid point marked.
For making other line pattern I used 'D'to mark equal distance between the lines of circle.

I made other equal distance circles in between the two I made before. Now the base was complete to start the pattern. I started with making simple steps.

The design was basically depending on only two pattern that looks complex but in actually they were so easy.

The design still holds the pattern as it was three story building🤣🤣. But I was tired of seeing this big pattern so I thought to start shading before completing last step of pattern making.

The step of shading was the most relaxing part of this art I was listening to the music and this design it was so relaxing. No doubt this art has some spiritual connection, and I was observing it.

I continued shading the pattern even my design changed alot from the one of reference but still I continued filling it with my ideas, and woah it was done till the pattern I made.

I was planning to finish it without making any final pattern but at end I realized the design is looking so incomplete so I made the last pattern too after shading the main center.

I shaded the last empty design to with the pattern from my thoughts, and I messed it up, but it's okay it was my first time. And ta da it's done.

I have never tried this type of art before and I don't know what kind of attachment and relation Hindu people have with this art but after trying it for the first time I really find this art peaceful. I try so many arts of different regions and designs but I never found any art that makes you feel ohh it's so relaxing and satisfying. Will surely try this in future too.
