DIY| Thread Doll

I am a BBA student and we mostly get opportunities to host marketplaces in our university. We set up stalls of various food items, bags and other things that we sell and after selling we have to write a report about our sales and experiences.

This year our teachers planned something different for us. In this market place we have to sell handmade items and no food stall is allowed.

Because I am an unemployed artist 😂 my friends asked me to decide a product that we can sell in this market. I gave them many ideas but they want samples of products to finalize one.

So, artist members of our friends circle started working on samples. I decided to make something simple that can be made in minutes and people will love it too. After hours of scrolling through YouTube I decided on a yarn doll that can be used as a keychain and decoration piece. I think it's a great option but I'm not sure if my friends will like it too.

So let's start,

Procedure

The materials i used for making this doll includes; threads of different colors, beads, needle and clay(I made head of doll with air dry clay you can also use any kind of bead.)

I started making doll by folding purple thread on my fingers for 50 times.

After folding it i made small aluminum ball and placed it between the thread to make dolls body and also made arms with white thread where i attached beads too.

After that i used white thread to fold against the body of doll just below the aluminum ball.

Now lower body of my doll is ready.
After that i folded brown thread on my fingers 40 time to make hairs of the doll.

Secure hairs with the help of thread. Now you have all materials of doll fully prepared. Now you just have to attach them with each other.

In last step i attached body, head and hairs to each other with the help of thread. You can also use clay but i prefer thread more than glue.
