The god of Olympus collection: The Athena 2022.

  I am not sure if I mentioned before but I love ancient history. Probably I said when I published about an interesting silver that imitates an ancient Greek coin of Arethusa. But anyway I am always watching some possibilities of Egyptian, Greek or even early European topics. This Tuvalu series with the Gods of Olympus theme always got my attention. But I have never seen it with easy premiums. Usually, they are very high on top of the spot.

  This coin series started in 2020 with Zeus and for now, there are 9 gods until then. The last ones were minted last year in 2023, Artemis and Apollo. To be more amazing, they have two silver versions for each silver. A regular silver 1 oz which is already amazing and the antique finish 1 oz. If the premium of the regular 1 oz is already not so low, imagine the antique finish one. In addition, they made a gold version of these coins. In addition, I found 5 oz ones as well.

  For luck, I found a dealer in Edmonton selling the Athena regular 1 oz on eBay. In the ad was already a not bad price. It was 65 CAD with shipping included. I didn't buy, I wasn't sure about buying so I liked the ad and waited a bit more. After a certain time, I received an e-mail saying that the seller was open to an offer. So I made a 60 CAD offer and he accepted. I think it was a nice deal. The same seller is selling the Aphrodite and also some others for a price of around 85 CAD, which is a little bit higher for me! But in my point of view was nice to start the collection with Athena.

  I remember when I was a kid when started to read more about Greek mythology and at the same time started to watch an anime called Saint Seya. In the anime, probably Athena is the most important goddess helping the heroes since some other Olympus Gods are seen as evil in there. Athena is the goddess of wisdom and most of the time is also represented by an Owl which you can also find in this amazing coin. This Athenian owl is also a very interesting symbol that I love as well. I have a ceramic Athenian owl that I bought during my visit to Bath, UK. This city has ancient Roman baths in honor of Minerva, the Roman correspondent of Athena.

  This 2022 coin was minted by Perth Mint, which I already mentioned as one of my favorites. The mintage isn't very high only 13,500 maybe that's why the premium goes a bit up in this collection. The reverse has also other symbols related to Athena, such as an olive tree which is associated with a legend of Poisedon competing for Athens as a place of worship. The snake is also an important symbol for Athena, associated to destruction and to her own shield, which has a medusa head with snakes on it. In addition, the Famous spear represents the power of this goddess. In summary, Athena is a badass goddess.

  So now I only need 8 more coins of this collection to complete it, I am not sure how long it is going to take but I would love to complete it. I found on Facebook a guy that it is closer to this goal and it is suffering a bit to find the coins at a good price. I am focusing a lot of my collection on coins closer to the spot unless it is a real good deal like this one compared to a regular price.

Mas, de qualquer forma, estou sempre de olho em algumas possibilidades de temas egípcios, gregos ou até mesmo europeus antigos. Esta série de Tuvalu com o tema dos Deuses do Olimpo sempre chamou minha atenção. Mas nunca a vi com prêmios fáceis. Normalmente, eles são muito altos em relação ao spot.

  Esta série de moedas começou em 2020 com Zeus e, até agora, são 9 deuses. As últimas foram cunhadas no ano passado, em 2023, Artemis e Apolo. Para ser ainda mais incrível, eles têm duas versões de prata para cada moeda. Uma prata regular de 1 oz, que já é incrível, e a versão de acabamento antigo de 1 oz. Se o prêmio da prata regular de 1 oz já não é tão baixo, imagine o da versão de acabamento antigo. Além disso, fizeram uma versão em ouro dessas moedas. Além disso, encontrei também versões de 5 oz.

  Por sorte, encontrei um vendedor em Edmonton vendendo a Athena regular de 1 oz no eBay. No anúncio já estava um preço não tão ruim. Era 65 CAD com frete incluso. Não comprei, não estava certo sobre a compra, então gostei do anúncio e esperei um pouco mais. Após um certo tempo, recebi um e-mail dizendo que o vendedor estava aberto a uma oferta. Então fiz uma oferta de 60 CAD e ele aceitou. Acho que foi um bom negócio. O mesmo vendedor está vendendo a Afrodite e também algumas outras por um preço de cerca de 85 CAD, o que é um pouco mais alto para mim! Mas, na minha opinião, foi bom começar a coleção com Athena.

  Lembro-me quando era criança e comecei a ler mais sobre mitologia grega e, ao mesmo tempo, comecei a assistir a um anime chamado Saint Seiya. No anime, provavelmente Athena é a deusa mais importante, ajudando os heróis, já que alguns outros deuses do Olimpo são vistos como maus lá. Athena é a deusa da sabedoria e, na maioria das vezes, também é representada por uma coruja, que você também pode encontrar nesta moeda incrível. Esta coruja ateniense é também um símbolo muito interessante que eu adoro. Tenho uma coruja ateniense de cerâmica que comprei durante minha visita a Bath, no Reino Unido. Esta cidade tem banhos romanos antigos em homenagem a Minerva, a correspondente romana de Athena.

  Esta moeda de 2022 foi cunhada pela Perth Mint, que já mencionei como uma das minhas favoritas. A cunhagem não é muito alta, apenas 13.500, talvez por isso o prêmio suba um pouco nesta coleção. O reverso também tem outros símbolos relacionados a Athena, como uma oliveira, que está associada a uma lenda de Poseidon competindo por Atenas como um lugar de adoração. A serpente também é um símbolo importante para Athena, associada à destruição e ao seu próprio escudo, que tem uma cabeça de Medusa com serpentes. Além disso, a famosa lança representa o poder dessa deusa. Em resumo, Athena é uma deusa poderosa.

  Então, agora só preciso de mais 8 moedas desta coleção para completá-la. Não sei quanto tempo vai levar, mas adoraria completá-la. Encontrei no Facebook um cara que está mais perto desse objetivo e está sofrendo um pouco para encontrar as moedas a um bom preço. Estou focando grande parte da minha coleção em moedas mais próximas ao spot, a menos que seja um bom negócio como este em comparação a um preço regular.
