My first special "Buffalo" silver

  Yesterday @youloseagain was asking in the SGS discord about some cool country mints, and in the end, I mentioned that there are some nice cool Facebook groups of people selling and buying Gold and Silver here in Canada, so maybe he could find some in the UK. He answered that he got scammed in the internet once with a fake silver and he was afraid to deal again in this field. I agree with him that the internet is a place where there are many scammers.

  I met these groups not long ago. But I got interested in them for two reasons. The price goes pretty close to the real spot and they offer to send the coins through regular letter mail for 3 CAD. So we have two risky things in here. The first is trusting in the seller after sending the money by electronic transfer and the second trusting in our mail system. I tested with a bullion that I mentioned in my last post: The 1 Oz Asahi Buffalo. That was a bullion that I had been searching for a long time. The seller by coincidence lives in a town 2h from here by coincidence, since the group have Canadians from all over the country. He had a good reputation, I saw his posting history and it wasn't the first time selling in the group.

  I even helped the seller, since the ad he mentioned that it was SMI Buffalos, but I saw the Asahi's mint mark and told him about it and he fixed it. I bought it for 41 CAD plus 3 CAD (letter mail). The silver spot is around 40 CAD so it was a nice deal.

  It was an awesome service, I made the e-transfer and in less than 10 min he sent me the picture of the envelope with my address and sent it on the same day. I got it at the end of last week and in a very awesome condition, passing the magnet test, just in case, despite having never seen an Asahi silver counterfeited.

  It was a great accomplishment for my stack since I was waiting for my first buffalo to be Asahi's. Something bothers me a bit around here: the animals that people call Bufallo are in reality Bison! The true Bufallos are in Africa and Asia. I learned that the origin of calling Bisons Bufalos comes from the French fur traders in North America in the 1600s. They called Bisons Buffalos just because they didn't know how to call them and they knew about the African and Asiatic buffalos which are totally different animals.

  Of course, I won't start calling as Bison Silver, since no one will know what I am talking about. But this silver is a memorial for the old nickel coin that was circulating at the beginning of the 1900's. This Asahi's silver for me is the best one, but of course, I am looking for other ones like Silverthowne and SMI ones. The bullion brings all the requisites of a regular Buffalo bullion, with the native American head and the bison. Very shiny coin.

  Another Facebook group that I joined was from a mint called Royal Bull which make streaming lives every week with releases etc and you can buy directly from the streaming lives. I will talk another time about that since I also bought some silver in there.

  Ontem @youloseagain estava perguntando no Discord do SGS sobre algumas casas da moeda legais de países, e no final eu mencionei que há alguns grupos legais no Facebook de pessoas vendendo e comprando Ouro e Prata aqui no Canadá, então talvez ele pudesse encontrar alguns no Reino Unido. Ele respondeu que foi enganado na internet uma vez com uma prata falsa e tinha medo de negociar novamente nesse campo. Concordo com ele que a internet é um lugar onde há muitos golpistas.

  Conheci esses grupos não faz muito tempo. Mas fiquei interessado neles por dois motivos. O preço vai bem próximo do valor real de mercado e eles oferecem enviar as moedas por carta comum por 3 CAD. Então temos duas coisas arriscadas aqui. A primeira é confiar no vendedor após enviar o dinheiro por transferência eletrônica e a segunda é confiar no nosso sistema de correio. Testei com uma bullion que mencionei no meu último post: A 1 Oz Asahi Buffalo. Essa era uma bullion que eu estava procurando há muito tempo. Coincidentemente, o vendedor mora em uma cidade a 2h daqui, já que o grupo tem canadenses de todo o país. Ele tinha uma boa reputação, vi seu histórico de postagens e não era a primeira vez vendendo no grupo.

  Eu até ajudei o vendedor, pois no anúncio ele mencionou que eram Buffalos da SMI, mas eu vi a marca da casa da moeda Asahi e avisei a ele sobre isso e ele corrigiu. Comprei por 41 CAD mais 3 CAD (carta comum). O preço da prata está em torno de 40 CAD, então foi um bom negócio.

  Foi um serviço incrível, fiz a transferência eletrônica e em menos de 10 minutos ele me enviou a foto do envelope com meu endereço e despachou no mesmo dia. Recebi no final da semana passada e em uma condição muito boa, passando no teste do ímã, apenas por precaução, apesar de nunca ter visto uma prata Asahi falsificada.

  Foi uma grande conquista para minha coleção, já que eu estava esperando que meu primeiro Buffalo fosse da Asahi. Algo que me incomoda um pouco por aqui: os animais que as pessoas chamam de Buffalo na verdade são Bisões! Os verdadeiros Buffalos estão na África e na Ásia. Aprendi que a origem de chamar Bisões de Buffalos vem dos comerciantes de peles franceses na América do Norte nos anos 1600. Eles chamaram os Bisões de Buffalos simplesmente porque não sabiam como chamá-los e conheciam os Buffalos africanos e asiáticos, que são animais totalmente diferentes.

  Claro, não vou começar a chamar de Prata Bison, já que ninguém saberá do que estou falando. Mas essa prata é uma homenagem à antiga moeda de níquel que circulava no início dos anos 1900. Para mim, essa prata da Asahi é a melhor, mas claro, estou procurando por outras como as da SilverTowne e SMI. A bullion traz todos os requisitos de uma bullion Buffalo regular, com a cabeça do nativo americano e o bisonte. Moeda muito brilhante.

  Outro grupo no Facebook que entrei foi de uma casa da moeda chamada Royal Bull, que faz lives semanais com lançamentos, etc., e você pode comprar diretamente das lives. Vou falar sobre isso outra hora, já que também comprei algumas pratas lá.
