Hi guys! Today I am bringing a very polemical topic in the precious metals world, well at least for me. When my friends from SGS community post something colored, usually I am the first one saying that I hate to buy colored metals. I think @silversaver888 is another one that always says that. By coincidence, she posted some Germania goodies this week so I promised her to post something that I consider to be in my tresoured collection like the 0.5g greek design gold coins.

It has been a while since Germania Mint has been producing these cast bars using Germanic gods and goddesses to stamp the front of their bars. These are 2oz and they are pretty interesting bars, very polished, and as you can see the front has rounded sides. They released 6 goddesses for now, recently they just released Nerthus and the mintage is very low always 999 of them are around. The bar always comes in a fancy box with the COA like you see it is almost jewelry.

This is Gullweig or Gullveig. She is known to be a figure that appeared during a god war and she was speared by the god Æsir and burnt 3 times in the conflict and yet reborn all the times. The art is interesting and she is very beautiful, but as you can see it is all painted! This is the bar number 153. It is nice to have these bars/coins with numbers that bring uniqueness to them.

Because of all of that usually these bars from the collection aren't cheap, if you go to eBay you will find only stuff over 200 CAD, for me is a bit expensive. My dealer was burning stock so I could buy for 150 CAD (around 107 USD). You won't ever find this price for these bars even being a bit over the spot, around 53$ per onça which means around 20$ per ounce over the spot. What do you think @silversaver888? Still a nah for colored metals? And other SGS members what do you think?

I was unaware of the existence of these pieces, although in part is that I know very little about precious metals or similar. However, I must admit that since I saw the initial photo of your post I was captivated by the piece you bought, I like the figure of the goddess Gullweig, I have even gone to read a little about it, being cataloged as “the goddess of wealth”. The piece looks very nice aesthetically. Even though you don't like metals with color, is this the only one you have like this with color? Best regards my friend.

IF it is done well I suppose. I've seen some that look like they've been printed on a dot matrix printer with a grainy finish and not worth the extra expense.
