Stress, Struggles, and Solutions: My Mental Health Journey

During my childhood when I was in school I always feel no or very less stress most of the time (except the exam time). Going to school in the morning, complete the home work in the afternoon after coming back to school and then go for playing in the evening after watching my favorite cartoon shows was the daily routine. At that age we always want to be elder as fast as can as we thinking that the elders has freedom more then us but we come to realize the reality when we grown up and it becomes clear to us that it all was a illusion in our mind. Every age has its own challenge in the life and those challenge makeup strong and week as well. In today ear the technology has evolved so much that we can do the thing just by a voice command but this so called technology also make us lazy in terms of the physical work and that leads to our degraded mental health. The pressure all around us form different direction make us mentally weak. The mental health can be effected by many things like a family issue or dispute, no having a job satisfaction, financial issues, marriage issue even more demanding job also. Their are some ways we can deal with such situation and every situation required a different techniques to handle it effectively. For example the family issue are different form the office related issue, so we need to analyze the situation and think of the solution accordingly.

When I was away form my native place for job most of the time I missed my native place and I always try to get transferred near to my native place. It took almost 5 years for me to get the transfer and their were any incidents when I feel very low and feel stress on my mental health. Being away form your native place has many disadvantages, like we always missing family function and it's also create a financial burden on us as to traveling to home means we need to spend a good amount on tickets etc. To be honest I was feeling like I should quit the job and find another one near to my native place but I was not in a situation or financial strong that I can take the risk of unemployment after marriage. I talk with my seniors when ever I got the chance regarding my transfer but even after all those efforts it took long 5 years. On one side your boos is expecting a good output form you and even he knows you are in not good mental state because I was not getting the satisfaction and enjoy the work place as I was away form my home. I spend total 10 years their and finally got the transfer letter. It was so much relief for me. Job satisfaction is not just related to the you earning it's more then that, are you happy at work place, are you able to delivered as expected, are you able to justify your job role, all this can not happened if you are not in a good mental health. The community also play a big role in such cases. Even if you are away form the home but you find a good company of like minded people then up to some extent you will be able to cope with the situation but it's not working always but yes it works most of the time.

To get away with my stress and to improve my mental stress I use to listen to the music. In office also I use to play music when ever I feel stressed or depressed. There was a time when doctor told me to give time for myself as my blood pressure was higher then the limits as it was not good for my physical and mental health. As per advice I start the regular walk and meditation, which helps a lot. I must say the meditation is very effective and try to practice now also. Walking is missing form daily routine but I still try to go for when ever I got the time.
