Delayed Flights, Exciting Nights: Our New Year Vacation

Traveling and exploring new places is always exciting activity for me. As my wife also love visiting and exploring new places so its more fun and enjoyable for me as we both are similar interest. Recently have a short visit to my twin brother living abroad but because of some constrains it was my solo visit but for sure I love take my family with me next time and if everything will be ok them most probably in coming two years itself. Here in this post I am sharing a visit to metro city Mumbai last city with family. It was our first visit to Mumbai after my transfer. Actually my kid @gurseerat was missing the place and want to meet her friends and we also missing our friends so we decided to visit the Mumbai and celebrate the new year with old friends. We plan to stay their for almost one week and visiting beach and amusement park was also in list as that was on demand by @gurseerat , it was not am issue for us as we have enough time. We decide to go by air to save time but the fare was high for the airport near to our native place so we decide to take flight form the Delhi which is thee and half hour journey form our place by train. The frequency of flight is more form the Delhi as its capital city. The cheaper flight was early morning which was not an issue as we can take the train in the evening and can reach the airport well before the time. Everything was find, flight booking was done as the trains booking was also available. On the day of traveling we reached the airport well before the time and after getting our boarding passed we were waiting at the boarding gate when we received the massage that flight is delayed by hour. Our kid was very excited as she want to see the city lights view from sky and she was asking again and again that when we will fly.

Some how we managed the one hour but to our surprised we received the another massage that the flight is delay by another one hour. We enquired and come to know that they have shortage of in flight crew and they are calling their staff. It was the last week of the year and many people were traveling just before the new year and that was the reason the almost all the flights were full and that was also the reason that the flights were not getting the crew. One group of ladies were are waiting for the same flight and during the discussion I come to know that initially they were booked with another airline but when the reached the collect the boarding pass then come to know that the flight is over boked. That is first time I heard that any flight is overbooked, when I asked how they overbooked then she told me that as per the guy on counter that they do not have control over the ticked booked though the online third party partners, and that is the reason for the overbooking. I was more surprised when I come to know that they refund them all almost double the amount they paid for the booking and that was also hard cash. Any way that was the another story. After some time we saw that the crew was coming and that was the one happy moment for us all waiting. But the happiness was not last for more time as we were asked to wait more as the crew has come but still they were waiting for the pilot. My kids got sleep by that time so it was some relief for us. Fortunately after some time the pilot comes and they started the boarding. We were late by more then two ours because of all this mess. Any way good thing was we were flying as I was fearing that they might be canceled the flight and if this happened then our whole plan get spoiled. The shortage of staff make us to wait for another one hour for our language when we reached the Mumbai. All those delay was going to effect our over all planning but still I was happy that we reached at destination and the delay was manageable as we have sufficient time to spend with friends.

No doubt our start was not so good and first day was not as planned but fortunately the rest of the days were wen as per plan and we enjoyed a lot during the vacation. Before the new year we have get together with all our all friends and planned to celebrate the new year at a place beside the lake. The decision was very good as the place was marvelous and has activities for kids as well as adults. The DJ party was awesome we welcomed the new year with dance and they organizers arranged the crackers and 23 cakes. We spend the night in tents beside the lake and environment was too good. Next day we left the place before the noon as went to the beach was the on our kids list. We spend almost two hours their and come back to city in the evening. The next day we took rest before visiting the amusement park. The visit to amusement park was planned for full day and we went to almost all attraction.

Indeed it was a awesome vacation and we all enjoyed it a lot.
