Stock Market 101:: Booked Profit - Stock - Exide Industries Ltd...

This is yet another example on the Stock Market 101; series on booking profits. Where today I would be talking about my profits by investing in stocks Exide Industries. First a disclaimer here that I had been holding this stock for quite a while and whenever there was a sharp decline in the price of the stocks, I was averaging it out meaning buying more stocks. Ok now before we get further a bit on as to why I had invested in ticker - "EXIDEIND"

Top 3 Reasons to Investment in Exide Industries Limited...

Lets first look into the business model here of this company which is into manufactures batteries for automotive sector like 2 wheeler, 4 wheeler, 3 wheeler, E-rickshaws and H-UPS[Home Uninterruptible Power Supply]. Quiet a good business model I would say and hence this becomes my first point of investing into Exide Industries. The next factor I looked into was or I can I was surprised to see that Exide is the leading storage batteries manufacturer in India with leader in almost all categories in Automotive, Industrial, and submarine sectors. The company is well positioned when compared to its peers who are Bosch, Endurance Tech, ZF Commercial and many others. And the good part is that Exide has a market cap which is around₹ 40K+ Cr so not a penny stock company at all. Now have a look at the following image that I captured from my stockbroker App - Sharekhan and this should make things more clear to understand on my holding and profit booking.

Right now I am left with just 160 shares the average purchase price is around Rs.435/- Best part already booked profit is around Rs.53K+ and I still have another Rs.5K+ profit to be booked. I plan to book this profit as well in a day or to and will move on further. Well that should be it for todays post on the Stock Market 101; series1 on booked profits with real time examples.
