Changing My Strategy for #HBD - HIVE BACKED DOLLAR...

Hey All,

I Love HBD and the current 15% APR that it gives when you park your HBD in the savings account. #HBD aka HIVE Backed Dollar - which function as a stable coin within the Hive network, deriving its stability from the network's capability to exchange them for an equivalent value of $1 USD in HIVE. The blockchain rules impose limitations on the creation of HBD to ensure the well-being of the Hive economy. In case you are interested to know about HBD i.e. where to buy HBD from, HBD marketcap and all the rules associated to it visit @ausbitbank Website here. There was a time when I used to have 12K+ HBD in my savings account and use to reap the 20% APR at that point in time but then I leveraged all that HBD to venture into different crypto coins like #RUNE, #BNB, #ATOM and others. But then again started building my #HBD stake and when I reach to a point of having 4.5K+ HBD accumulated. Now there is a change in my strategy to do something else with the HBD in hand.

My Strategy for #HBD - HIVE BACKED DOLLAR...

I had promised to myself that I wont touch the HBD now but one need to take action when the market trends are changing. With Mr. Donald Trump winning the 2024 US elections there are high chances that cryptocurrency regulations and policies might experience significant changes. Given Trump's previous mixed stance on digital assets, his administration could potentially take a more hands-on regulatory approach, either encouraging or restraining cryptocurrency usage in the U.S., depending on their economic agenda and stance on financial technologies. I think overall this is going to bring a good momentum in the crypto market and we are already seeing it where #BTC recently reached its all time high price. We are now just waiting for the other crypto coins especially #HIVE to pick up and at least get closer to its all time high price which was around $3+ mark.

So the question is can I get more #HIVE before we see the surge? And why not when I have all the means to increase my #HIVE stake by another 25K+ HIVE or so by trading all my #HBD in savings account. I know its bit difficult to change ones plan but then its equally important that we adjust our investment strategy according based on the market conditions. When I am seeing that there is a huge potential for #HIVE to surge then why not take advantage of it and sit on #HIVE as opposed to a coin i.e. HBD [HIVE BACKED DOLLAR... ] which is going to be pegged by a dollar only. Hence the change in my strategy and going all IN for #HIVE at the moment. Well this should be it for todays post on changing my strategy for #HBD and I just hope this new approach brings better results and aligns with my goals.... Happy Investing & #HIVE to the mooon sooon..... cheers

I have to say that my personal thoughts is that Hive, the coin is being run down and isn't expected to rise significantly in price. I think the biggest project on Hive right now is Hive Sucre and @distriator who are providing the ability to spend HBD. Whether this creates Hive to be bought, Im not sure but given the utility of HBD and its still attractive interest rate, I will be aiming in an opposite direction to you!

Its a guesswork and good luck anyway haha

Best wishes and good luck with the new strategy :-)

I think your strategy is wise, I can't see Hive staying below $0.20 for too much of the bull run. ofc, that is just speculation on my part, and I have no idea how much Hive price will rise, but I have a feeling that at some point in the next 12 mths , you will be able to swap that Hive back for a lot more HBD. maybe three times or more.

What is your Hive price speculation in the next 12 mths ?

Will you power up the Hive or keep it liquid ?

A question on Powering up/down, if I may impose ?

The Power Down process takes 13 weeks, during that 13 week period , do you loose the benefit of 13/13 of the Hive power that you powered down, or just incrementally 1/13 each week.

If you only loose one thirteenth of your active HP each week from the total powered down, then it might be easier to manage a power up then power down into liquid Hive to capture some HP benefit while you wait.

If all of the HP becomes inactive (i.e. all 13 weekly tranches) on first powering down, then that requires consideration, I'd be inclined to stay liquid.

I am building my liquid hive up ( only have a tiny bag and it's growing slowly) so I can move into HBD when hive is significantly higher than today. But I want to keep my HP high too for curation /delegation. Timing any Power Down will be tricky
