DAY 1 | DAY 2 | DAY 3 | YOU ARE READING DAY 4 | DAY 5

Almost done with this series of posts and am somewhat sad about it. πŸ˜…

For one thing, I don't know when I'll have the chance to post in this wonderful community again, as my travel schedule is almost nonexistent. 😭 So this was really my only chance of interacting with some of you. πŸ‘‹

But I'll save the final post for my heartfelt goodbyes, for now, we still got a Zagreb to explore! Today I will take you through the places where people get $#!@ done. I know the title might seem confusing (that's by design mind you!) but all shall be revealed in due time.

Let me not keep you waiting! Let's a go! πŸš€

πŸ”Ά MUNICIPALITY πŸ”Ά

So for the last couple of reads, I've been sharing my breakfast with you'll, well today we got something different! There were three types of breakfast you could order in the hotel: Manda Style - the one you saw earlier with the slices of meat and cheese; Veggie - the one nobody got cause it was strickly vegetarian πŸ˜…; and Stay Fit - cereal, boiled egg, oats, nuts, dry grapes aka the best of the bunch!

And I only got it for the last 2 days. πŸ˜₯

No, but seriously, this breakfast was the $#!@! I don't remember eating everything once. It was so fulfilling. 🀀 // or is the correct rem filling? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Once breakfast was done we headed over to the seat of power. The throne as it were. Where the powers that be got $#!@ done in Zagreb. // I seem to be in a very explicit mood this time around

Fun story: Our ride over actually didn't know where the municipality building was. He was asking us for directions. We were like, dude, don't you live here? It was super weird.

Once there, however, we were greeted with a set of presentations that were just A-tier through and through. πŸ’―

The view from their offices was also pretty nice. 😁

The main hall had plenty of things to catch your eye if you aren't one of the regulars. What you see on the left is a mockup of the biggest transit project the city of Zagreb has done in the past 25 years. πŸ‘

Speaking of the main hall, they also hat a cafeteria which we all used to have our lunch! πŸ›

πŸ”Ά LUNCH TIME πŸ”Ά

The cafeteria had a really cozy feel to it. For one thing it smelled like a home kitchen. Each day the workers in the municipality were treated to home-cooked meals that they got to choose from. You paid for your meal + your salad and got bread for free! 🍞 For what it's worth, it was prettttyyy goooood.

And pretty cheap. Croatian cuisine is pretty close to Macedonian so we felt right at home. I got the bean soap + sausage + some salad and wasn't disappointed. πŸ˜‡

Everyone got nice and fed. Which was good because our next stop was a 20-minute drive across town. πŸš—

Where does this long drive conclude you may ask? Why at a chocolate factory of course! 🍫

Confused? Why would representatives of governmental study visit meant to exchange vital information about the environment go o a chocolate factory? Well, first of all, why wouldn't they? And second...

πŸ”Ά DHMZ πŸ”Ά

To visit the headquarters of the leading research institute in the country of course! Silly goose...

Now, there's a funny story here. Well, somewhat. πŸ˜… In 2020 a devestating earthquake struck the capital of Croatia. Many homes and businesses were destroyed or became nigh unusable. Such was the case with DHMZ's headquarters. The solution? Move into the Balkan's premier chocolate factory of course! πŸ™Œ

During the entire meeting (which lasted about 2 hours) the smell of chocolate came from everywhere. So much so that it was hard not to constantly feel like you were getting fatter just by sitting there. 😁

Regardless, we endured this torture and soon enough were ready to go home. Or in this case, Hotel Manda!

Here's a photo of me being blinded by the sun! β˜€οΈ

Fewer images this time around so had to sneak in a selfie at the end to make up for it. πŸ˜… Today we got an overview of DHMZ's activities, and tomorrow we will be visiting their massive laboratories. πŸ”¬

Thank you for reading, you rock! (and maybe, possibly, roll) πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Shout-out to the πŸ•PIZZAπŸ• gang, πŸ€™ gang. πŸ€™

Wanna see the rest of my adventure? Well, ask no more fellow internet users!

BEHOLD: DAY 1 | DAY 2 | DAY 3 | YOU ARE READING DAY 4 | DAY 5

I'll make sure to make up for the low amount of pictures with the finale! That one should be one bombastic post as it will cover our final day + our departure. *I know, you're trembling at the bits to read it already. But hold your horses! πŸ‡
