Suchitoto graveyard. El Salvador . Don't fear the Reaper.
A couple of miles hike out of the town to the municipal graveyard on an afternoon where the flags were cracking in the upper 80's Fahrenheit, (don't ask me what that is in centigrade as I haven't got a clue.) was perhaps not the best idea I have ever had.
But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
All I can say is thank the lord I had my sunshades on as the colours on such a bright day would otherwise have scalded my retinas beyond repair
Maybe that is why I had the place to myself, mad dogs and englishmen and all that; the locals must come at sunrise or sunset, good thinking batman.
Well maybe not all to myself, me and a couple of thousand others lurking around I guess.
Throughout the land, the ground was broken, unpaved, in parts there seemed to be a lot of aesthetic landscaping big mounds of earth having been dug up
Maybe the bamboo is taking over and needs to be removed?
It was good to see some of the more senior residents who have lived here longer than they did as they walked the earth.
What is the meaning of life? What is it's purpose? There is no end game, only eternal blackness.
Some die young, they don't get to see old bones, others manage three score years and ten. Live your life each day to its fullest, worry not what society thinks of you. One life, live it, this is not a rehearsal.
Caterina de Mena, 1832 -1904, still staring out at the world. I wonder what life she led? Pious and devout, expecting to live forever sitting on a fluffy white cloud as she had been indoctrinated? Or was she a rebel without a cause?
Delores Cuella, died 1910, aged 64yrs
Shades of Blue, blue for a boy
Hand written in marker pen, simple concrete cosses
It is better to go to your grave regretting the things you have done than rueing the chances you have missed.....Some souls never get that chance

So cool to walk graveyards. This one had so much to see. I like the chaos of it.
