People I don't know . And People I know. Concepción de Ataco. El Salvador.

Ataco, for short, easier on the mouth, easier on the fingers, is a small city with a population of under 20k, and for such a small compact centre I have never seen so much art in all my days!

Tourism started to take off here in 2004, both for salvadoran and International visitors. I guess if you read the guide books Street Art is one of its big attractions. So let's get stuck in

People I don't know

I am guessing these portraits are of movie stars commonly seen over the years on local telly or at the cinema, from spaghetti westerns to action and adventure. Anyone recognise them?

And People I know

Not the best examples of this Icon; I have seen a lot better

Frida Kahlo, one of my all time heroes, and one of the most stunningly beautiful faces I have ever seen, she lived her life as she wanted, survived abuse, childhood polio, a near fatal road crash, and a turbulent marriage.

Her art is an inspiration, sadly she was not really appreciated for years after her short life which ended when she was 47.

The ones you don't know are famous Mexican artists, Pedro Infante, Juan Gabriel (not Mick Jagger haha), Vicente Fernández, Cantinflas, María Félix, the military man Emiliano Zapata, the super hero Chapulín Colorado... very good these representations :)

Great selection of Street Art with all these portraits. I don't know anyone if they are famous actors or musicians, although sometimes they ring a bell 🤔 Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great weekend
