Too much reading Stephen King in my youth...

He was sure he was alone. But contemplating a picture, at the edge of his senses he heard a quiet noise. Almost silent. The brush of cloth on skin. A settling of weight.

He turned. Had the subjects in the portraits moved, ever so slightly?
