Critical Review of MCU's Thor: Love and thunder

Thor: love and thunder is the 29th MCU movie, that hit the theaters in July and and also Disney Plus. And on Thursday, Sept. 8, it went digital for those who couldn't see it on theaters. I was part of those that didn't.

I've read a lot of positive review on this movie and I must say I'm not really impressed. But like the say it's a free world and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Plot

Thor is on a path of self realization. He embarks on a road of self discovery unlike anyother he's ever faced, with a quest to find inner peace. His quest and retiremen twas however,interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a cosmic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods after the death of his beloved daughter. He claims the gods intentionally let his daughter die.

In order to fight Gorr, Thor sought the help of his friend King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who in unexplained words to his wields his magical hammer. And together, they all set out on a dangerous galactic adventure to defeat the fearsome abd vengeful God Butcher who had already kidnapped little kids .

My thoughts

Love and thunder starts out promisingly enough for me, with a stark introduction setting up Christian Bale's villainous Gorr the God Butcher. After his harsh desert experience which claimed the life of his daughter, and his encounter with an uncaring, callous god drives him to mount a campaign to slaughter every divine being in the universe. There I felt it was gonna be a thrilling ride but saying I was dissatisfied is an understatement.

I really wished they had just left it as the action sci -fi movie it was instead of trying it out to the rom- com like shitty movie.
The marvel franchise deals with superheromean superhero shows. I expected much if the fight scenes and not long dialogues and dry jokes that can came off really corny at times.

I think in their quest of trying to balance comedy with the action and drama and merging multiple classic comic storylines into a single narrative, Thor love and thunder adventure spills into some thinned experiment and ended up feeling shallow.

I mean the idea of Jane foster being able to lift a hammer that was blessed and cursed by a god didn't just sit right with me. Not the little girl who was born out from the gods in the end holding the storm breaker like it's some little toothpick out of the dentist office.

The villian was made in the start of the movie to look dreadful. Just so he could end up kidnapping little kids that were asleep. I mean for someone who was set out on a vengeful quest to kill all the gods. Was that supposed to make him look powerful?. Really? Kidnapping kids?.

Love and Thunder felt like a promising movie with such great acts, but ended up being a below par movie for me.

Sometimes I wondered if marvel was making kid movies these days. With the too much colourful scenes like Disney.
