Visiting Some Of The Historical Place in Barangay Calangahan, Lugait Misamis Oriental

Greetings everyone, for today's blog we will explored some historical place in Barangay Calangahan Lugait Misamis Oriental. I am glad, I have few historical information at the Place when My Grand Father told us the stories. I was very excited to went in the the place and explored how beautiful the area is. This was my first time to visit and traveled the place that is why I was very delighted. But before we proceed to my Main topic allow me to share the exact location of Barangay Calangahan Lugait, so it will be very easy to locates the Place.

Location:

Barangay Calangahan is located at The Municipality of Lugait in the Province of Misamis Oriental in Mindanao Philippines. This is the 6th Barangay of the said Municipality and it is near at the coastal Areas and some majestic hills were lots of fruit trees and Trees can be seen. According to the stories from my GrandFather, this areas is one of the battle ground during Second World War. The Guerilla fighters lead by Native Filipino make a camp that time near at the Main road.

From the Site, the first area we will passing by is this National Road. Lots of different kinds of vehicles running in the place and it is completely in concreted. Back in the Second World War, this road was still a rocky road and only few vehicles can. Near at this Main road is the Cell site Tower located at the top of the cliff. From the National road, the majestic and tall towers can be seen. Also, this areas is the boundary point between Manticao and Lugait Misamis Oriental. The road consists of four lanes and lots of vehicles came from Iligan and Cagayan De Oro Passing by. There are few billboards displayed at the cliff so everyone can seen very easily the ads on the billboards.

This Massive stone walls was excavated many years already. On the top of this cliff is the Guerilla fighter's Camp. They decided to make a camp because of the overviews, and the enemies can easily be seen. As many hears has passing by, the stone walls was now covered with Fungi plants. The newly excavated rocky road leads to some houses built not far away from the Main road. This road is served as a short cut go all residents here heading to the Main road.

One of the biggest, tallest and Oldest trees found here at the site is the Atipolo tree. According to my Grandparents, this trees already grows 80 Years already. I was very amazed of the trees because it gives shades on the areas and the tree trunk is also very big. It grows near at the stream along with some coconut plants and a few bamboo trees. This tree is the oldest found here Barangay Calangahan Lugait Misamis Oriental. Lots of wild animals like Birds perching on its branches making its nests. This is one of the ancient trees here in Barangay Calangahan and the Local Government prohibited to cut the tree.

A lot of changes happens many years has past, this place is also one of the camp site of Native Filipino Fighters during Second World War. But as many years has past, the camping sites was now turned into an Agricultural site were lots of tall coconut trees grows and few houses built at the opened field. This place is already part of Sitio Lawis also found in the Barangay. Farm Raising Animals like Cows, Goats, and Carabao's also found because the place contains lots of wild grass.

This is an old deep wheel built January 1, 1991. This structures is very important to all residents here just like fetching lots of water for their animals, plants and also house chores. Sometimes they do laundry here, the deep wheel is made of concrete as a support base with big lumber to leverage and easy get lots of water. In the concrete structures also recorded and engraved the details just like Day of completed, the depth. Visiting this place is very fun and enjoyable because of the wonderful sceneries and areas located here in Barangay Calangahan.
