"The Disastrous Happenings In Our River"

Good morning to all of us. We experienced severe flooding here in our area yesterday due to bad weather. It is reported in the news that bad weather will hit here in Mindanao and it is said to bring heavy rains and heavy flooding and it really came true. I will share with you today the situation of our river here in the town of Manticao in Misamis Oriental. We are used to this situation such as flooding where many trees or other objects are seen being swept away by the strong current of water and we are used to always being alert and monitoring the movement of the river.

It was 11 o'clock in the morning when it started to rain heavily with a little thunder. It rained heavily for almost 5 hours while we were preparing for possible flooding. We have prepared important things such as important documents and so on. Before the flood subsided, the flood water began to rise here in the river. We have started to monitor the movement of the river so that it does not happen again during typhoon sendong when we almost couldn't go to the high ground because the water suddenly rose.

Due to the heavy downpour of rainwater, the water is raging even here on this road. This is one of the causes of the destruction of the earth and I will not let it continue. Soils and rocks from high places were swept down due to strong water currents.

It is also one of the causes of flooding because they accumulate in the river. But when the situation is like this, the flooding is small but we did not expect it to be a boy.

When the flood comes from small rivers, the flooding is definitely big here in our river because the water accumulates here. So yesterday we were surprised by what we saw, huge floods and trees swept away by the current. We were also surprised when we passed this huge bamboo tree and acacia wood.

I could tell for sure that the river was really deep because the water easily swept away the massive wood and bamboo. I think there are places where there is a lot of destruction because of the incessant rains so the ground completely collapsed and the water swept it away.

We were afraid that the water might overflow again in our area, so it was really good that we were always on alert. Soon the water in the river gradually receded and it left behind thick mud. Since it was quite dark when the water receded, we couldn't estimate the damage caused by the flooding.
