Exploring Our Coconut Farm In Linangga Manticao, Misamis Oriental

I have a slightly busy day yesterday when I decided to went in our Farm for a visits. I was very excited about my plans because its been a long time since I can't do a proper visit here in this place. My Family and I was preparing for a visitation in our Farm and this is what I am going to share this to all of you. But first, allow me to share how happy I am because of this wonderful and productive place just like our Farm, and we are very lucky about it.

Our place was consists of almost 400 coconut plants, and this is one of our primary source of income here in the Province. Its been 25 years since my Father decided to plant this coconuts, and with all his hard works, dedications and Patience the place was already productive and in fact, we already harvested many coconuts and approximately 5,000 pieces of coconuts. Every 2 months, we did coconut harvesting and sell to our buy and sell business neighbor. Sitio Linangga, the place were I was born was also consists of many fascinating wild plants and trees and flowers.

Exactly 8 in the morning when we arrived at the place, it was very relaxing because the area is surrounded with many trees. Walking in a place just like this every morning is very nice and relaxing, we can see the green leaves of the plants and trees and tweeting of birds berching in the branches. As we arrived, I started to found coconut fruits in the place. Every night, there are lots of coconut fruits falled down specially those harvested coconuts. I put it in one place so that the laborer can easily get and loaded in the cart, that will transported to other parts of the place.

Our farm was already installed with electricity and this will help to lighten up the places during at night. We are so very happy that our sitio was already installed with electricity in accordance with our electric cooperative on its big projects for the better of the Place.

Our farm has a lot of big trees just like this one. I always clean the surrounding place in this big tree because it is very perfect for resting here, specially during hot season. We called this tree, MACAO an it is good for furniture and other house purposes. There are many people who wants to buy and cut this tree down, but we disagreed with their offer and request. Back when the Typhoon sendong hit our country, this tree was very helpful because without this, our rest house will be flashed away by the flood.

Our farm is near at the river and this is the Manticao river. This is the boundary point of between the two Barangays in Manticao and everytime when there is a typhoon occur, the water comes from this river will overflow and washed out anything on its path. When we visited our farm, we always visited this relaxing and cool river here in our sitio.

We also decided to raised more chickens in the farm and luckily, they grows very healthy. We always feed them with feeds, grains and termites. For now, we raised at about 20 kinds of chickens and we collected their eggs and sell to the Market place or viand for our family meals. We let the chickens walking around the place and they also went back every afternoon and berched to the branches and sleep during at night.

This my dog named Chuchay, she always at me everytime when I visited the place. My dog helps me to scare dangerous kinds of animals just like snakes, monitor lizards , hawks and eagles. This animals is very harmful to all of my chickens here.

I also visited and checked this area were many kinds of bamboos were planted. My Father decided to plant more bamboos near at the cliff so that it will helps to prevent the place from being colapsed or eroded. Bamboos are very important to us in here because we used this in our house as walls, floors and even ceilings.

After our plant checking in the place, we also constructed this wooden chairs and tables. This chairs and tables are made of Antique tree we unearthed in the river and this tree was called, Tugas. The furniture made of this kind is very expensive and some resorts and hotels are like to have this kind of chairs and tables.
Having this kind of place is very enjoyable and relaxing. We can do planting many crops,fruits and vegetables that will help on our Family needs.
