PARTS OF SPEECH: A WRITING FROM MY SHOOL NOTES
Today i went through my note book and then i came across one of my best topic in english language which is part of speech so i decided to write concerning that.
**Parts of speech are the eight major categories of words that we have in english language.
they are,
1.Noun.
2.Pronoun.
3.Verb.
4.Adverb.
5.Adjective.
6.Conjuntion.
7.Interjection.
8.Preposition
But we are going to be looking at five of them. which are,
1.NOUN; a noun is a naming word. its help to name things for instance, Ngozi, which is a name of a person, lizard which is a name of an animal, Lagos which is a name of a place. table which is a name of thing.
Noun is divided into many types, but am only looking at two major ones which are .
(i) common noun
(ii)proper noun.
Common noun: Common noun are general names given to something. that is a name given to a particular thing that is known all over the world, examples ar
(i This is an object used for writing which is known all over the world.
(ii). DUST PAN: Many people make a lot of mistake by calling this packer no this is not packer but dust pan instead.
Proper noun: Proper noun is a specific name of a person , place or things. It's begin with capital letters e.g Nigeria. the first letter is always written in capital letter same to other countries . Also you cann't begin a name of a person with a small letter for instance, ''Chief Obafemi Awolowo'' was one of the people of integrity in the past.
- PRONOUN: A pronoun is a world used instead of a noun. You might be wondering how? Examples of pronoun are she, they, it's etc.

(i) She is back from school.
you can also say Ada is back from school which indicate the pronoun'' she'' in the sentence
ii) They are here. who are they? Ada and Obi. Also, a pronoun is categorized into many forms. they are, relative pronoun, interrogative pronoun etc but they are going to be treated in our next class
- Verb: A verb is a word that indicate actions in a sentence. e.g dancing, singing, crying, clapping,
*making sentences with verbs
(i) She -is dancing out of tune
(ii). singing: They are singing in the church.
( i) Cryining: The beautiful baby is *crying for food.

4. Adverb. An Adveb tells us more about a verb in a sentence examples of an adverb are quickly, mainly, cheerfully.
**** Making sentences using adverb.
(i).mainly; we spent two days there mainly visiting love ones.
(ii). quickly :She danced quickly out of the room.
(iii).cheerfully: She is cheerful giver
An adverb is different from a verb describing where the sentence belong to eg, **N/B I am dancing quickly . dancing is a verb while quickly is an adverb.
5. Adjective: an adjective is word that tells us more about a noun or a pronoun in a sentence e.g big, small ,fat etc
making sentence with an adjectives
(i). My daughter is a big girl now.
(ii) She is not too small to talk.
(iii) I am not too fat but am plumy.
