Mum, Boss, Balance
Creating a work-life balance is one aspect of adjusting I never thought would be so difficult to achieve and needs constant checking especially when one becomes a parent, being single and free, there is still less guilt as you probably don't have someone to be responsible for except yourself, especially if you live alone, but when the responsibility of family, bring a husband or wife to someone included cones in, then you know that there is no how you can escape it unless you constantly carry the weight of guilt for favoring your work time over family.
It was so unexpected to my family, even myself at first when I quit my white-collar job to be a work-at-home mum, this obligation was sincerely forced out of the need to be there for my child who had recovered from an ailment that almost took her life, though I had my mum and other families who helped care for her, but the guilt was always there for not having time for her and even myself, that mum's special care at that critical young age. Knowing there was no way I was going to end up a full-time housewife with no job, I've been independent for as long as I can remember and can't bear the thought of having to depend on others. Becoming skilled as a lady became necessary, being my own boss gave me the chance to create that work-life balance, I'm happy with this path I've chosen, absolutely yes, no more burden of guilt, and also the stress of building someone's else businesses, rather I'm building mine, no strict rules keeping me away from my family, I chose to be dedicated to both my work and family because these two part of my life are very vital. When it's time to work, I do just that, thank gully, my family knows that and sometimes renders a helping hand, which further strengthens the family bond, increasing family time, and in that moment, I have sort of created that work-family balance.
My routine is not necessarily the same, the workload lightens sometimes, and other times becomes intense, but through it all, I try as much as possible to be there for my family, for my children for instance, once they are back from school, I instantly need to take a break from work to attend to them and so far, this routine has been working just fine for us..
Any need for Change
For now, no, I'm already used to this lifestyle, and I'm not changing my type of work, at least for now, yea, change is constant, and I sure do have other plans and career choices I'm building, but in all of that, it is for when my children are more independent, then will I be at peace switching, or at best combine these new career choice I'm currently building.
In conclusion, the work-life balance is balanced to a good extent, so the change is pending for now, letting me build up my family and business alongside.
