I designed a beautiful dress for a Wedding Celebration
When I thought I could finally take the much-needed rest after non-stop sewing throughout the festive season, here I am back again, I can't just stop right, especially when faced with a creative challenge, it gets me excited, the reason why I advise people to do what they love, not just fir the monetary aspect as it can get frustrating at some point, just like hiving, if you are a passionate hiver, you find your blogging experience, for instance, enjoyable and hise becomes a place for you to relieve stress rather than a job, and that's what fashion designing is to me, it's a passion that the fire never stops burning, every challenge I face makes me even more excited to get my hands busy.
I was only able to take four days rest rather than the one week rest I had planned, it's the new year and some of us already have something to celebrate, which is a good thing, and as it's our custom here in Nigeria to always look elegant for an event in our traditional attire, especially our common African Print known as ankara fabric, and another unique thing common to us is that the same type if fabric is distributed to everyone who would be in attendance, did I made mention it's going to be a wedding party, how I love wedding parties and can't miss the first one happening this year, after all, all work and no play makes Glory a ... Lol nah I'm not dull, rather, I'm a creative designer and would be working on a dress to look fabulous, and it is not just me, my friends who would be in attendance as well, and guess what, we would be rocking same style, as expected, a dramatic sleeve follows hehe, what's a wedding guest outfit without a bit of drama.
We decided to go with a corset-like dress, adding that touch of creativity to get an amazing and elegant result.
Materials used are
Ankara fabric
Lace Fabric
Lining fabric
Skin bet
Bust cups, etc.
Every dress begins with a pattern drafted, and that's what I did to achieve the base of the dress, the above image is the front pattern patterns piece, in which I combined the ankara fabric from the chest to the underbust area, and there is a transition effect from the underbust to the waist area.
And for the back area, it's a basic back pattern.
The base of the dress is a straight skirt pattern which I also pleated the lace fabric at the front part of the skirt,
Did you notice the difference in the upper yoke area, I switched it, using the navy blue lace on one side down to the sleeve, while the skin net was used on the other side.
To add more drama to the sleeves, I cut out a full flare, which I attached to the hem of the basic sleeves and here is the final look.
What do you think of this design pattern, beautiful right? I can't wait for the day of the event, and I've still got an extra dress to make or also she comes for mine.😅
Thank you very much for reading to the end.❤❤
All images used in this post are mine.
The dress looks amazing
This is one thing I also talk about because sometime the monetary value may not be as rewarding as you hope, but if one is passionate about something it keeps them going no matter what.
Exactly, our passion towards a thing is what keeps us going, no matter what , the excitement to create takes over.
As much as money is important, but doing what you are passionate about is what brings excitement and fulfilment.
Nice dress😘❤️
So on point, fulfillment should be what we all seek in whatever we do.
Thank you🤗
I love it!!💙 Very dramatic, again😊 ...especially the asymmetrical design of the fabric, beautiful!!

Seamstresses can't just rest even if we want to we can't help it. And most especially we should be missing out of the fun-filled moments like going to weddings and parties.
It helped to relief sewing stress.
This is lovely dear.
