Today I want to talk about something very well known in one of the most beautiful towns that I have been able to meet in Colombia, and that given its geography and agrarian and tourist economy, also offers one of the most delicious desserts that I have been able to taste in this beautiful country.

The "Milhojas" are a dessert that I have always known in bakeries in Venezuela and Colombia, being a dessert that has different layers of what appears to be pieces of puff pastry stacked and joined with a cream, along with a topping of some sweet, being dulce de leche the most common.

In Villa de Leyva we were recommended to try the "Milhoja de Arándanos" as blueberries are a well known crop in this area, and in fact we could see how it is used in other dishes.

We decided to try this dessert on our first night in town, so we decided to do it in a store near the central square, where we were served by a Venezuelan woman with whom we had a good conversation.

Something that is very striking is the size, since it is not normal to get desserts of this size, and in fact, the "Milhojas" that I have been able to eat are half the size of the ones we were able to taste in the photos.

My wife ordered a chocolate covered one and I ordered a blueberry covered one, and I want to tell you about the blueberry one because it had a sweet and sour taste, with some blackberry pieces inside the sauce.

Something that catches the attention is the amount of whole blueberries that we can see, so you can say that we are not consuming just a sauce, but we are consuming and tasting the flavor of the fruit in its natural state.

I sincerely recommend that you try these desserts on any visit you make to this town found just 3 hours from Bogota.

Buenas tardes Hivers, espero que esten teniendo un excelente día.

Hoy les quiero hablar de algo muy conocido en uno de los pueblos más bonitos que he podido conocer en Colombia, y que dada su geografía y economía agraria y turística, también ofrece uno de los postres más deliciosos que he podido probar en este hermoso país.

Las "Milhojas" son un postre que siempre he conocido en las panaderías en Venezuela y en Colombia, siendo un postre que tiene diferentes capaz de lo que parece ser trozos de hojaldre apiladas y unidas con una crema, junto a una cubierta de algún dulce, siendo el dulce de leche lo más común.

En Villa de Leyva nos recomendaron que probariamos la "Milhoja de Arándanos" ya que los arándanos son un cultivo muy conocido en esta zona, y de hecho pudimos ver cómo se usa en otros platos.

Decidimos probar este postre en nuestra primera noche en el pueblo, por lo que decidimos hacerlo en un negocio cercano a la plaza central, donde fuimos atendidos por una venezolana con la cual tuvimos una buena conversación.

Algo que llama mucho la atención es el tamaño, ya que no es normal conseguir postres de este tamaño, y de hecho, las "Milhojas" que he podido comer tienen la mitad del tamaño que estás que pudimos degustar en las fotos.

Mi esposa pidió una con cubierta de chocolate y yo una con cubierta de arándanos, y les quiero hablar sobre la de arándanos porque tenía un sabor ácido y dulce, con algunos pedazos de mora dentro de su salsa.

Algo que capta la atención es la cantidad de arándanos completos que podemos ver, por lo que se puede decir que no se consume solo una salsa, sino que consumimos y probamos el sabor de la fruta al natural.

Sinceramente recomiendo que prueben estos postres en alguna visita que hagan a este pueblo encontrado a apenas 3 horas de Bogotá.
