MY EXPERIENCE IN SAKI COMMUNITY
MY EXPERIENCE IN THE SAKI COMMUNITY
SO FAR!!
Season One!!!
I remember the very first day in this community how I cried and almost got depressed because all my life, I have never been to this kind of community or village before
I'm a serving corper in Oyo state Saki precisely.
In my introductory Post, I talked about how I was posted there as a place of primary assignment
My Experience so far!!!
After I sorted my place of primary assignment and my school accepted me, I had to travel back to get my things from home to go back and resume fully with them since I had been accepted by them.
I got home and told my family about it and luckily for me, it was the Festive period, which is the Christmas celebration. Since we were preparing for it, I was asked to just wait for the celebration after, I would go back to my place of primary assignment.
I waited for the Christmas and New Year celebrations after which I started packing my bag and baggage in resuming fully to Saki a town in the Western part of the Country.
After much preparation, my family and I then concluded that I would be leaving the second week of January. I got all my things prepared on that faithful day and I left. I guess it was on a Sunday when I left, I left very early for the park because I was told that if one is taking the Saki bus from Lagos, one has to leave very early to get a straight bus
Luckily for me, when I got to the park, I was so lucky that it was just two to three passengers left and I made the necessary payment, less than an hour the bus was filled and we left for Saki.
We left around 8:am and I got to Saki at exactly 3:Pm, since I hadn't gotten an apartment yet, I had to stay in the Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) Family House. When I got there, I was warmly welcomed after which I was ushered to my room. When I finished arranging, the sister welfare coordinator gave me some food to eat and later I had my bath.
The next day on Monday, I woke up very early in the morning, got dressed, and went to work. When I got to my PPA and after the normal assembly routine, we had a meeting with the Principal and she introduced me to other teachers, later on, the vice principal had to pair me with the current teacher who was taking that particular subject to take over from there.
The teacher then gave me the timetable for me to know when I would be having the subject with the student and also took me through how I would be writing the lesson notes.
Luckily for me, I am only taking one subject a week and the students are just three offering my subject.
Sincerely speaking, the past few weeks I have spent so far in Saki have been lovely as I don't have to work myself out every day.
Indeed saki indigenes are nice and I applaud them for being so accommodating and hospitable set of people
Thanks for reading through
God bless you!!

It's good to know that things turned out better than you expected in Saki. I think we have a Hiver currently serving there as well and you guys can link up if it's the distance isn't that much.
Shout out to the people of Saki and I wish you a great time throughout your stay there. Cheers.
Thank you so much @george am happy things turned out better than I expected
Could U indulge my curiosity? The subject which only 3 students are offering, is it further maths?
@great no is not
I stayed in Oyo state for about 5 years, but I am yet to hear the name Saki. I don't even know where it is located 😀. It's a good thing to serve in a place where the locals value you
Glad they tried for you and helped you out.
It’s not easy to find good people in Nigeria based on the countries current state
@earnest same here I haven't had of the place before not until I am been posted there
