Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! - Lost Magic (ENG/ITA)
Good evening, Splinterlands friends!!!
I've mentioned many times that magic attack monsters in Splinterlands are often considered the strongest on the battlefield, and there's a good reason for this. Their ability to attack from any position makes them extremely versatile, allowing you to maximize their power regardless of their placement in the lineup. But there's more: magic attacks have the unique power to bypass the enemies' Armor, hitting directly their health. This means they can deal significant damage even to the most armored warriors, bringing them down with surprising speed.
Let's see what happens when we can't use them in this week's Battle Mage Secrets Challenge!!!
Lost Magic: I know it's very easy to fill a team entirely with magic cards and choose summoners like Obsidian or Alric Stormbringer without much thought, but with the Lost Magic ruleset, you can no longer use these types of monsters. Therefore, in these cases, it is advisable to focus on abilities that limit opponent Melee and Ranged attacks, such as Thorns, Retaliate, Demoralize, and others.
Here's the link to the battle I want to show you:

And these are the game rules:
A generous Mana Cap of 44, with two additional rulesets, besides Lost Magic, namely Maneuvers and What doesn't kill you, which can help enhance our melee monsters on the field.
And here's the battlefield:
This time, I opted for a rarely used summoner, Astral Entity, with a team consisting of Harklaw in the first position, followed by Disintegrator, whose Demoralize ability can greatly help limit the opponent's melee monsters. In the third position, I placed Silent Sha-Vi, followed by Ravenhood Warden and Clockwork Aide.
My opponent, on the other hand, chose the very popular Kelya Frendul, with the good old Sea Monster in the tank position, followed by Baakjira, Gargoya Devil, Axemaster, Supply Runner, and finally Water Elemental.
Well, we can safely say that my team was annihilated by the opponent's. It was clear from the first round that my monsters were falling one after another, while my opponent's monsters withstood every hit.
In my opinion, my biggest mistake was focusing too much on melee cards. Instead, my opponent wisely filled four positions in the backline with powerful Ranged monsters that hit my team from a distance without taking much damage.

https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_a39b50c46dabb3ec7e1160234cddf800

Best of Luck 😉Nice choices! I love magic teams, but when that lost magic pops up you have to get the old thinking cap on! Thorns are a great ability here I agree. But Kelya is just so tough because there are so many great choices on the water for a strong melee team. It's never fun to watch your team get obliterated, but every time you learn something from it in my experience.
Great post!
Thanks, got to learn from those lost games to get better !!!
Play and learn, only problem is sometimes I forget what I already learned! !LOL
