Hoy es un día muy importante porque es el inicio del año escolar de mi hijo menor Cristian, quien va al cuarto año de bachillerato. Él, aún con catorce años, sin duda alguna es un adolescente y consentido porque es tierno y muy apegado a mí, aunque suele desenvolverse muy bien cuando está fuera de mi alcance. A pesar de tener un temperamento bastante fuerte, es muy temeroso a todo lo nuevo, lo que quiere decir que para este año escolar tiene muchas interrogantes que lo atemorizan.

He, still fourteen years old, is undoubtedly a teenager and spoiled because he is tender and very attached to me, although he tends to do very well when he is out of my reach. Although he has a pretty strong temperament, he is very fearful of anything new, which means that for this school year he has a lot of questions that frighten him.

Creo que el temor o miedo es propio del ser humano, es algo completamente normal sentirlo cuando nos sentimos amenazados o simplemente ante cambios que traen situaciones nuevas a nuestras vidas. Sencillamente, los nuevos desafíos muchas veces nos llenan de incertidumbre, creando en nosotros irritabilidad, intranquilidad y ansiedad.
I believe that fear is part of the human being, it is something completely normal to feel when we feel threatened or simply when faced with changes that bring new situations to our lives. Simply, new challenges often fill us with uncertainty, creating in us irritability, uneasiness and anxiety.
Una de las cosas que han llevado a mi hijo a sentir este temor fue una situación por la que pasó estando en tercer año y tuvo una experiencia con la profesora de química. Fue una situación difícil, y entiendo que lo haya afectado mucho. Sin embargo, esos momentos difíciles también nos enseñan y nos hacen crecer, a pesar de ese episodio, él demostró mucha fortaleza y perseverancia, ya que era la única materia con baja nota y eso para Cristian fue motivo de lucha e insistencia por mejorar la calificación, no tuvo paz hasta conseguir su propósito.
One of the things that has led my son to feel this fear was a situation he went through when he was in third grade and had an experience with the chemistry teacher. It was a difficult situation, and I understand that it affected him a lot. However, those difficult moments also teach us and make us grow, despite that episode, he showed a lot of strength and perseverance, since it was the only subject with a low grade and that for Cristian was a reason for struggle and insistence to improve the grade, he had no peace until he achieved his purpose.
Mi labor como madre es animarlo por lo que trato de ofrecerle un panorama positivo lleno de frases motivadoras, como que todo va a estar bien porque no es nada del otro mundo además seguramente tendrá amigos nuevos, profesores inspiradores, asignaturas desafiantes y oportunidades de crecer a través de conocimientos maravillosos. También tendrá la oportunidad de conocer a personas increíbles, aprender cosas nuevas y desarrollar otras habilidades que quizá desconoce.
My job as a mother is to encourage him so I try to offer him a positive outlook full of motivational phrases, like everything is going to be fine because it's no big deal and he will surely have new friends, inspiring teachers, challenging subjects and opportunities to grow through wonderful knowledge. Es bien importante motivar a nuestros hijos, apoyarlos en todo lo bueno y fomentar en ellos la preparación en conocimientos, que sean curiosos, no tengan miedo de pedir ayuda y celebrar sus logros. Recordarles que son capaces de lograr todo lo que se propongan, darles motivos para que confíen en sí mismos y disfruten de una nueva etapa donde seguro hay muchas cosas estupendas que los mantendrán activos y muy felices en ese otro hogar que es la institución educativa.

Bueno, ánimo para tu hijo, en la vida nos vamos a topar con personas que nos hacen vivir malas experiencias, incluyendo profesores. Pero hay que avanzar. El horario se ve feo lunes y viernes. Debe comer temprano y/o llevar alguna merienda.
Si, esos dos dias me preocupo mucho por el tema de la comida ya que no le gusta llevar nada al liceo, por lo que trato de hacerle un buen desayuno para que aguante hasta que vuelva a casa.
