Self-Determination is not all about economic development only.
Economic development is just one of things that comes with self-determination.
Self-determination is process by which a Ethnic group determines its own statehood and forms its own government...

In 1995 , there was a Referendum in the Quebec province of Canada which 50.58% voting "No" and 49.42% voting "Yes" the Justifications for Quebec's sovereignty were not Economical but historically nationalistic in character, The French speaking claimed the unique culture and French-speaking majority (78% of the provincial population) are threatened.

The Scottish people wanted to leave the union with the rest of United Kingdom in 2014 wasn't based on economic, afterall ,Scotland is doing pretty well and has a fair portion of the their oil fields..

Bangladesh broke away from india even though the people knew it wont solve their poverty problem.
Ukraine is one of the most corrupt society in the world but she wont give up her sovereignty to Russia.

Self Determination is more than Economic benefits or Creating a corrupt free society..
Self-determination is about creating your own society based on people you share the same values.
I read Dr Akinwumi comparing Singapore as a successful muti-ethnic society in comparison with Nigeria is not totally accurate.
emmigrate is not the same as indigenous people.

Singapore is a small island with a population of 1000 in 1819. Malays arrived in Singapore between 17th-19th century , the Chinese arrived the Island in 19th, Population of the entire island was 10,000 in 1824.

Malays (15.0%),
Indians (7.4%)
are the ethnic groups that made up the population of the island..
The 76.2% chinese can trace their Origin to China, The Malays can trace their Origin to Malaysia,there are about 15million Malays in Malaysia. . Singapore has one dominant Ethnic group which are the Chinese.

Nigeria is home to over 250 ethnic groups, with over 500 languages,and the variety of customs, and traditions among them gives the country cultural diversity. While there is only one dominant Ethnic group in Singapore, Nigeria has three dominant ethnic groups which are the Hausa 19.4% ,Yoruba 21% and Igbo 18%, this means Tensions between the people.
everyone is skeptical of each other,
fear of losing power , inconsistent ideas on how to move the Nation forward.
The only ethnic group that's not indigenous to the area called Nigeria are the FULANI, all the ethnics groups in Nigeria have been there for thousands of Years.
Yoruba is a Nation, not just some ethnic group that migrated 100 years ago like the Chinese in Singapore. This is their home,they have no other place to call home.The Ethnic groups in Singapore have something in common, they are foreigner in an Island , and they decided to work together.
Yoruba people don't have any reason to be in a Union with other Nations without a purpose, at the moment, we are in a forced union without a purpose and objective..
I have listened to so many arguments against Independent state of Yoruba Yoruba Nation.some even said we have no economic power to be self-determinate. My response to such people is they should mention one country that was rich at conception.

What makes majority of Yoruba comfortable in a country that isn't solely theirs?

Why do 65million Yoruba think they dont have the mental ability to create a nation state of their own unless they share it with other people that dont think like them, speak them, eat like them?
What extactly is the objective of Nigeria and the benefit to Yoruba people?
