Meddling With Time.

Time travel is one innovation I am looking forward to, even though I don't see it happening at all. It's one innovation that would change a lot of things in the world, but it just sounds impossible to me.

Growing up, I had several fantasies about time traveling, and it was awesome. As someone who loves history, I actually want to experience some historical events rather than reading or watching them in movies. I had plans of going to the future to see things as well, but all these only ended up in my head.

As I grew into adulthood, I realized that such innovation would even turn into a deadly weapon in the wrong hands. I foresee the past and future being altered, which wouldn't make any sense.

I believe time traveling would help solve so many mysteries in the world, a lot of calamities in the future can be prevented from happening, but aren't we messing up with something beyond the human ability?

The world was created uniquely, and I believe things happen for a reason. Pandemics, diseases, natural disasters, and many other things happen for reasons beyond our knowledge. Nature has its way of creating a balance, and there is almost nothing we can do about it. Traveling back in time to amend or going to the future to prevent things that should happen might attract terrible consequences, so why waste such innovation on changing/preventing events?

If we start asking people something they would love to change in the past, I bet many people, including myself, would have something to say, but will changing the past events have a positive impact on the future? To be honest, nothing is guaranteed. We can't tell what the impact of the changes would be, but things could get pretty worse than we have experienced.

The same thing applies to the future; you can't tell what preventing some events will result in. It could birth a bigger problem or nothing at all.

Over two decades ago, something happened to me. I know it's far from a time-traveling scenario, but it explains my point a lot better. My dad had a dream that I fell at school during PE and came home with bruises on my knee. That morning, he instructed my mom not to allow me to go to school because of the dream.

My mom persuaded him, saying she would speak to my class teacher to watch me closely or probably I shouldn't participate in the exercise. Dad was adamant, and my mom didn't have a choice because she didn't want to be blamed if anything eventually happens since dreaming is our family gift.

I stayed at home that day, and what happened was more than just bruises. I actually fell from the stairs at home, broke an arm, and as well tore my lower lip. The lip was stitched, and my arm got medical attention as well. It was a horrible experience for me despite being a kid, and my dad regrets not allowing me to go to school. I bet he wished I got the bruises instead of everything that happened that day.

I am not saying he made a wrong decision by forcing me to stay at home because anything could have happened at school. It could be worse than what happened at home, and on the other hand, nothing might even happen at all.

If I had the ability to travel back and forth in time, it would be to learn or solve mysteries. I am definitely not interested in changing anything, whether in the past or future, because I won't be able to forgive myself for creating more chaos while trying to help people.

Like I said earlier, the outcome of altering the past or future is not certain, so letting things happen as they should seems like the best thing to do.

As fascinating as time traveling would be, I can confidently say that the consequences of meddling with the past or future can put the human race in great danger. Instead of changing the past, we can learn from the mistakes of the past and use them as a guide for the future. I believe that way, we can make wise decisions about the future without having to tamper with time.
