Christmas healing.

"It is almost Christmas. The holiday season is mostly about family, fun and food. Everyone seems to be in a good mood. I want to have a wonderful Christmas as well and I wish to celebrate with my family," Sophia one of the girls at the orphanage said to Mrs Jayna.

"You sound very funny Sophia and I have told you that Christmas is the same everywhere. You just have to open your heart to the love and happiness of the season," Mrs Jayna replied.

"If Christmas is the same everywhere, why then do you always leave here every 23rd of December to celebrate with your family?" Sophia muttered.

***"Come here, sweetheart!" Mrs Jayna gently pulled Sophia to her side and whispered to her, "Is everything alright?"

"Yes, I was just thinking where my family could be. I wish to celebrate with them just like you do with your family," Sophia replied and tears poured from her eyes.

"Oh no, don't do that. You will only make me cry too, always remember everyone here is your family." Mrs Jayna hugged Sophia as she sobbed softly.

Sophia hugged Mrs Jayna tight and suddenly giggled.

"Did my hug tickle you again?" Mrs Jayna teased.
"Did I tell you Santa came to me while sleeping?" Sophia asked.
"No you didn't," Mrs Jayna replied.
"Okay, Santa came and asked what I wanted for Christmas so I made a wish to spend Christmas with my family again," Sophia replied and smiled.

Sophia Parker, a beautiful little girl was separated from her family 6 years ago. It happened after her 4th birthday when her parents were sent to prison for fraud.

Mr Parker was a banker at one of the leading banks in the state and had worked there for four years before something terrible happened. It was his first job immediately he got abroad with his family in search of a greener pasture.

One Afternoon while Mr Parker was at work, his wife called about receiving a huge sum of money in her account from his account.

"That must be a mistake because I didn't send any money to you and are you sure it was from my account?" Mr Parker was speaking to his wife when he heard a loud bang on his office door.

Upon reaching the door, he saw some police officers and the manager standing. Mr Parker became confused.

"Manager, is anything the problem?" Mr Parker stuttered.

"Are you asking me? Your secret has been exposed and you will rot in jail with your accomplice. Officers do your job," The manager yelled at the police and they dragged Mr Parker away immediately.

Mrs Parker was preparing to fetch Sophia from school after calling her husband severally and couldn't reach him.

"I hope everything is alright," Mrs Parker muttered as she locked their flat door. She was also arrested by the police immediately after she stepped outside the compound.

"Are you alright honey?" Mr Parker asked immediately if his wife was brought to him at the police station.

"Yes, what's going on? I am confused," Mrs Parker asked.

"I am totally in the dark," Mr Parker replied and that was the last thing he could tell his wife before they were separated. The next time they met was in court before being sentenced to 15 years imprisonment each.

Everything happened fast and because the couple couldn't reach out to any of their family in another continent, Sophia was adopted by the government and put in an orphanage home.

The little girl was left in the dark about her parent's whereabouts and all she knew was that they didn't come to pick her up from school. Life was hard for Sophia without her parents but Mrs Jayna stepped up for her.

Christmas was approaching quickly and Sophia was in no mood for celebration. It bothered Mrs. Jayna and she thought of taking Sophia to spend Christmas at her place.

"Would you like to join my family for Christmas?" Mrs Jayna asked Sophia on the 22nd of December.

"Yes! Yes! I want to do that," Sophia burst into tears.

Sophia was restless throughout the night and could barely sleep. Morning came and she was prepared to leave with Mrs Jayna who didn't show up as expected.

"Is anything wrong? Did she leave me behind?" Sophia muttered as she paced about in the room.

Some hours later, Sophia heard Mrs Jayna's voice so she ran out of her hostel. It was indeed Mrs Jayna but she came with two other familiar faces.

"Sophia!" One of the people who came with Mrs Jayna called and Sophia was speechless upon seeing them.

"Dad! Mom!" Sophia screamed and ran towards them. Mr and Mrs Parker opened their arms and hugged Sophia immediately when she got to them. They burst into tears and Mrs Jayna couldn't hold back tears as she watched them.

After some minutes of hugging and crying, they all returned to the head of the orphanage office where some government officials were waiting as well. The couple signed some documents and left there with Sophia.

Mrs Jayna was happy to see Sophia's wish come to reality but she was curious about the couple's sudden disappearance. She met them before they left the orphanage home and Mr Parker explained that the bank manager only implicated them years ago just to cover his crimes against the bank. He bribed some corrupted people who helped him lock up Mr & Mrs Parker but the truth prevailed.

They left the orphanage and went to the new house they got as compensation from the bank. Mr Parker got his job back and Sophia was the happiest girl in the world as she celebrated Christmas with her family again. It was the best time of her life even after many decades.
