Bedroom-Coffee Sanctuary.

I believe every morning has a huge impact on what my day will look like, and it's important that every day starts as great as possible so there won't be a need for me to try to make things right. Depending on my mood, health, and things happening around me, my morning routine changes, and I don't have issues with that since they are very flexible routines, but one common thing I do most morning is have a warm cup of coffee, which has become a healthy ritual for me and my spouse.

It's a ritual in the sense that I am somehow used to having coffee to help me get rid of this disoriented feeling I have after getting out of bed. With a cup or two, I get a clear mind to prepare for the day, and it's always effective.

Although there are days when I wake up strong and alert, I feel like jumping right into my daily activities, but I do still embrace a cup since it would always be a plus to whatever motivation I woke up with. Also, there are days I don't drink coffee at all for different reasons, and I still get myself together without my morning ritual.

Having my first cup of coffee in bed is something that didn't start today, and it can be traced back to days when I lived in a single room. Back then, my bedroom was everything except the bathroom and toilet, so I don't have the privilege to choose where to have my first cup of coffee within my apartment; it's either I have it in bed or I am not having it at all.

Sometimes, I get to drink my first coffee at work, but it doesn't give me the same satisfaction I get from having my first cup of coffee in my bedroom. It would be fair to say that I am stuck with the old way because now that I have different options for where to have my first coffee, I still choose my bedroom.

It would be fair to say that my body and mind have developed a sacred connection to what I call my bedroom, which seems like the perfect place to process the warmth and energy that coffee brings.

Aside from being stuck with an old habit, I find my bedroom cozy and really comfortable for my first cup of coffee. Since I got a bigger apartment, my siblings live with me, and they are students.

They wake up early every morning to prepare for school, and their preparation can sometimes be disturbing. They chat and can be very loud while preparing, which is the least thing I need when having my first cup of coffee. It's not like I don't talk while drinking, but not their type of discussion at that time of the day.

Remember, I said it's a ritual, so nothing should interrupt that quiet moment because the chances of having such a moment on the rest day again are slim. I love the silence in my bedroom while drinking my coffee, and somehow the coffee effect kicks in early. When they are on holidays, I easily switch, but my bedroom still feels like the best place for me.

Finally, I and my spouse share plans of how the day would look over coffee, so we get to help each other make changes if necessary. We also have heart-to-heart outpouring, and the best place to do that is nowhere except the bedroom since stronger emotions could set in afterwards.
