Brawl Report 12 including Gladius Case opening

Here is my 12th brawl report since I am with KingsHaven.

The restrictions on my brawl are again Novice level battle using only Chaos Legion units. Each battle are also given some random rulesets and mana so we have to quickly decide on what units to use and where to place them on the fly. Details of these rulesets descriptions can be found here.

I have to fight 7 battles this time round. The rating of the guilds in our brawl looks like what we usually get so we were looking to keep our winning streak going.

Battle 1 - Ruleset Lost Magic (36 Mana): WIN

This is a no magic fight so I went with Water instead to make use of the extra shield (which will protect against melee and ranged) and speed from the Water summoner.

My opponent went with a Water setup as well with a mixed of ranged and melee attacking units. He also put up a Wave Brood to taunt and spread my attack and has a double Opportunity units with Lurker and Vorst. I initially wanted to put up a double opportunity units as well. But I know the opponent is likely to put up a Water team so the faster Vorst is likely to be hitting the shield while Lurker do the finishing blow. This is not what I want my bloodlust unit to do.

In the end I went with Cleaver instead with a Disintegrator to reduce the opponent melee damage.

The initial rounds didn't look good as Cleaver was missing shots. But once Cleaver starts to get going, there is no stopping him. I WON this!

Battle 2 - Ruleset Little League (17 Mana): WIN

I wanted to use Water again but I don't have any gladiator units that is 4 mana or below so in the end I went with Life and use Ajax Lightfoot.

My opponent went with Fire and had tank in front with shield ability. However the offensive power is too weak and I roll through with my Ajax Lightfoot.

Battle 3 - Rulesets Weak Magic + Odd Ones Out (18 Mana): WIN

Wanted to go with Fire but again no suitable gladiator. So I went with Life instead and put Hugo Strongsword as the tank with a Scavo Halfling behind to repair the armor. This way I am protected from not only from melee and ranged but magic as well. I then added a Stitch Leech at the back to sneak up on opponent lineup and finally added a Spirit Hoarder as the last tank. Spirit Hoarder can heal itself at the back and I am not expecting a very strong sneak team since this is a low mana match.

Opponent went with a simple huge tank, Grum Flameblade, and Scavo Halfling as the repairer. As it turns out, my sneak unit very quickly dispatch off the enemy repairer and I won the match comfortably without losing a single health.

Battle 4 - Rulesets Heavy Hitters + Close Range (18 Mana): WIN

Close Range ruleset means I am going for Life this time round for the +1 Range damage. Once again I chose the gladiator Ajax Lightfoot as my main attacker and once again he didn't disappoint. He is just so fast!

Battle 5 - Rulesets Stampede + Earthquake (54 Mana): LOSE

This is a high mana Earthquake match. The only way I can think of going with this is to use Dragon + Life combination to get as many flying units out there as possible. Unfortunately for me my opponent also has the same idea and has Uriel the Purifier which I don't have. Luck was also on the opponent side when the Chaos Dragon scatter shot hit my Brightwing instead of other unit. With Brightwing unable to stay alive long, I lose this match.

Battle 6 - Ruleset Taking Sides (99 Mana): LOSE

Again another high mana match and again both me and my opponent chose the Dragon summoner. This time round, I lost because the opponent has Carnage Titan which I don't have. I used Gobson instead but it didn't work as well as Gobson has no shield and a much lower HP.

Battle 7 - Opponent Fled: WIN

5 Wins out of 7 battles. Not a bad result personally.

Unfortunately we have lost our winning streak! It was very closed but guess we now have to restart a new win streak again!

Fortunately we still manage to get over 1k merits each for our effort and with that I am able to buy a Gladius Case! Pack opening time!

Argh... another 4 common 1 rare pack! I really have bad luck with pack opening. Previously my 6 CL packs are almost all 4 common 1 rare cards with 0 summoners. Hope my luck change for the better soon!

MVP for this brawl is... Ajax Lightfoot! With 2 Attack 6 Speed and 4 Health, it is a powerful backline unit! Only weakness is it can't attack at the first position so if all the units in front of it has been eliminated, it is game over no matter how much attack and HP it has accumulated. But in a Close range ruleset, this unit is a beast!
