BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! - Broken Arrows Ruleset

Hi Guys! In this post we are exploring on another Splinterlands ruleset. The ruleset we are focusing on this time round is "Broken Arrows".

In a "Broken Arrows" ruleset, monsters with ranged attack cannot be used.

Lets take a look at a Wild ranked match with "Broken Arrows" as one of the ruleset. The battle restrictions are:
Broken Arrows with a max mana limit of 48. All Splinters except for Dragon are allowed in this battle. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:

TEAM SETUP:

Splinter	Mana Cost	Position	Reason
Possibilus	6	Summoner	My 2 strongest available summoner is Quix and Possibilus. Dragon splinter is not allowed in this battle so Quix is out. The idea is then to use Possibilus for its Reach and Trample ability to set up a strong melee lineup.
Legionnaire Alvar	9	1st	I need a strong tank to make this lineup work and Alvar is the strongest I have. It has a strong Void armor and should last for a round or 2.
Coastal Sentry	10	2nd	Coastal Sentry hit hard and with Double Strike is a very strong offensive unit. Unfortunately it isn't a strong tank. With Possibilus though as the summoner, it will gain the Reach ability and hide behind a strong tank like Alvar while hitting with full force onto enemy tank.
Demented Shark	6	3rd	Demented Shark has Inspire and would increase my melee units attack by 1. This would especially make Coastal Sentry even more scary as Coastal Sentry has Double Strike. Usually I would use River Hellondale for Inspire but I only realised my River Hellondale's rent has expired. Demented Shark is the best next alternative.
Deeplurker	6	4th	I put in DeepLurker because Opportunity monster is especially powerful when you give it Trample ability.
Venari Wavesmith	5	5th	Wavesmith would give all my unit +2 armor to ensure they last longer.
Noa the Just	5	6th	I realised Noa is a very good unit to use with Possibilus because Noa's Rust ability remove 2 armor from opponent's units. This ability combine with Possibilus' Trample ability means I have a higher chance of rolling pass my opponent's units.
Total Mana:	47

Opponent Lineup:

My opponent went with a Water lineup as well but used Bortus instead as the summoner. Bortus is a great summoner to use in this match as well as it reduced all opponent magic units by 1 magic attack. Unfortunately for my opponent I didn't use a magic lineup.

End of Round 1:

The enemy Torhilo the Frozen is a good tank with Void armor but it doesn't stand a chance against my strong melee lineup. My Coastal Sentry alone can deal 8 melee damage to it and that is why it was killed in the first round. It did get revive by the opponent River Hellondale but has very low armor and shield now. Meanwhile my tank still have full health.

End of Round 2:

This round you can see how devastating Trample is as my Coastal Sentry and Deeplurker routed the enemy lineup. In just one round, the opponent lost 3 units. The match is as good as over for my opponent.

End of Round 3:

It took me just 3 rounds to finish killing off the enemy in a 48 mana match as my units with Trample roll pass my opponent.

KEY STRATEGY
My strategy was setup a strong melee lineup with Trample to steam roll my opponent. I added in Noa the Just to make it easier for me in case I came across enemy armored unit. I also used Opponent unit to see if I can hit in the center of the opponent lineup and steam roll from there.

SUMMARY
When coming against the ruleset Broken Arrows, the first time to bear in mind is to only expect magic or melee enemy units. Not only that you should also expect the enemy to have magic or melee counter measures. Units or Summoners with Shield or Void Armor are especially important in such ruleset. Units with Rust is also extremely useful as it removed 2 armor per enemy monster be it Void or no Void.

Side Note
I also like to specifically mention about Possibilus the Wise. I have no idea why this legendary summoner is the cheapest legendary summoner in the market because it is extremely useful to use in many situations. Most of the other legendary summoners that are more expensive need specific situations but Possibilus is very versatile and can fit in more situations that the others. It can be extremely powerful and shouldn't be the cheapest.
