BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! - Born Again Ruleset

Hi Guys! In this post we are exploring on another Splinterlands ruleset. The ruleset we are focusing on is Born Again.

In a Born Again ruleset, all units receive the Rebirth ability which allows them to self resurrect once. Unit being resurrected would start with just 1 health but would be cleared of status like Poisoned.

Lets take a look at a Wild Silver ranked match with Born Again as one of the ruleset. The battle restrictions are:
Ferocity and Born Again with a max mana of 35. All splinters were allowed except for Water splinter. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:

Splinter	Mana Cost	Position	Reason
Helios Matriarch	6	Summoner	I intended to make an overpowered Quora Towershead for this battle so I needed to use a soul bounded summoner. Helios Matriarch was my choice as I can also make use of Dragon splinter units.
Venari Marksrat	3	1st	Venari Marksrat was my front unit because I wanted to make use of Marksrat's Martyr ability to boost my Quora. And since this was a Reborn Again ruleset, it meant my Marksrat can died twice and boost my Quora twice giving +2 to all of Quora's stats.
Quora Towershead	10	2nd	Quora Towershead is an extremely powerful unit with Magic and Melee attack, Self Heal and Bloodlust. Once Quora get going with its kills, it is very hard to stop it. I placed it on the 2nd position to get double boost from the tanking Venari Marksrat's death.
Fungus Flinger	3	3rd	I placed Fungus Flinger behind Quora because Fungus Flinger also has Martyr. The only issue was it was not easy to get Fungus Flinger to die in this position. Only way for Fungus Flinger to die here was from Blast, Snipe, Opportunity and maybe Scattershot abilities from the opponent side. Even if Fungus Flinger didn't die, its Blind ability would still help my team.
Goblin Psychic	6	4th	Even though Quora already has Self Healer, an additional healer would still help a lot in keeping Quora alive. Thus I put Goblin Psychic here.
Regal Peryton	5	5th	Regal Peryton was my backend shield. It is very fast and has Flight making it hard to hit by enemy Sneak units.
Vruz	2	6th	Vruz was placed at my last position because again of Martyr. I wanted Vruz to die twice to double boost my Regal Peryton so that it could dodge more attacks and also hit harder.
Total Mana:	35

Opponent Lineup:

My opponent went with a Earth splinter lineup with Mylor Crowling as the summoner. Mylor would be a troublesome summoner if I fielded a melee lineup as Mylor gave Thorn to all my opponent units. My opponent strategy was rather similar to mine. The main tank, Flesh Golem, was placed at the 2nd position with Fungus Flinger in front. This meant my opponent also intended to make use of Reborn Again to get double boost from Martyr to raise Flesh Golem stats twice. Flesh Golem itself has Self Heal as well and it was further backed by 2 more healers at the back. Let see how the battle went.

End of Round 1:

The first round ended with me not even able to kill the opponent's weak Fungus Flinger because it kept being healed by the opposing healers. Not only that, my magic lineup damage was also reduced by the Silence ability of the opposing Mushroom Seer. My Venari Marksrat, on the other hand, was killed once and that boosted my Quora Towershead. The Venari Marksrat was then immediately revived by the Born Again ruleset.

End of Round 2:

Round 2 saw my Vruz died once from the opposing lineup's Thorn ability which boosted my Regal Peryton and was then revived as well. My Venari Marksrat was killed again and boosted my Quora Towershead the second time. My Quora Towershead now had 3 magic attack and 4 melee attack. The enemy Fungus Flinger also died once this turn which boosted the opposing Flesh Golem.

End of Round 3:

My Quora killed off the opponent Fungus Flinger for good this round which boosted both my Quora (through Bloodlust) and the opposing Flesh Golem (through Fungus Flinger's Martyr). Now finally the main tanks were facing each other. My Vruz also died again from the opposing unit's Thorn which also boosted my Regal Peryton again. Thankfully my Quora also managed to dodge a big attack from Flesh Golem due to my Quora now being faster and with the opposing team all still blinded by my surviving Fungus Flinger's Blind ability.

End of Round 4:

The opponent huge Flesh Golem was killed by the combine attack of my Regal Peryton and Quora before it can get itself healed and then killed a second time. This further boosted my Quora's stats. My Quora now had 5 magic attack and 6 melee attack so nothing on the opposing side can stop Quora now. The slow speed of the opposing healers was the downfall of this battle.

End of Round 5:

My Quora killed twice in this round and get boosted twice again. It was steamrolling now.

End of Round 6

I won the match ending with a monster Quora with 10 Magic and Melee attacks, 12 speed and 20 health.

KEY STRATEGY
My strategy was to make use of Born Again ruleset to revive my Martyr units so as to boost my Quora Towershead to a monster and then make use of Quora's Bloodlust to grow even more unstoppable. It worked very well in this battle.

SUMMARY
In summary, Martyr units combine with Bloodlust units is a very powerful combo in a Born Again ruleset battle. I almost always use this combo in Born Again ruleset, unless it is make invalid by another ruleset.
