Espero que se encuentren bien y felices. Tiempo sin visitar esta comunidad, creo que porque no había logrado engancharme con una serie como para venir a darles mi review, cosa que sí sucedió ayer con: “Una nueva jugada” o “Running Point”.

Esta serie está recién estrenada en netflix, compuesta por 10 capítulos de unos 30 a 33 minutos cada uno. Cortos pero fáciles de ver y muy divertidos (hago la acotación ya que he visto series con capítulos cortos que son un suplicio quedase viendolos) pero este no fue el caso.

Running Point es una serie de comedia protagonizada por Kate Hudson, que encarga a Isla Gordon, una de los 4 hijos del dueño de los Angeles Waves, un equipo de basquetball que está pasando por una mala racha en la temporada. Está encargada del área de beneficencia, ya que tuvo una juventud un tanto descarriada y fiestera, aunque es de destacar que entre sus hermanos es la que tiene más conocimientos sobre el basketball pero que al ser mujer no fue apreciada para los puestos de poder por su padre.

El viaje de Isla en búsqueda de llevar a los Waves a mejorar sus números y entrar a los playoffs inicia cuando su hermano mayor Cam tiene un accidente por estar bajo efectos de drogas y debe dejar la presidencia de los Waves, dejando a cargo a Isla, ya que considera que es la que mejor puede llevar la batuta.

Una frase que me llamó mucho la atención, que aunque da risa es una realidad para muchas mujeres en el mundo, es la que le dice Brenda Song con su personaje Ali Lee a Isla: “Te amo, amiga, vas a ser la mejor presidenta, pero no lo eches a perder, porque cuando un hombre se equivoca: “está bien, porque se está aclimatando al puesto”, dirán, pero las mujeres desde el principio debemos ser perfectas antes los demás”

Y esta frase tiene mucho peso sobre el desarrollo de la serie, donde Isla debe trabajar usando su astucia y su inteligencia para resolver muchas situaciones como patrocinios, contratos, jugadores problemáticos, que el equipo se una y logre mejorar y avanzar a los playoffs sorteando en una industria llena de hombres que creen que por el hecho de ser mujer no puede dominar el tema del basquetball y los negocios.

Isla sortea los escenarios con gracia y diversión, lo que hace que la serie sea fácil de ver y cómica. Otro punto importante es el tema familiar, que si bien Isla y sus hermanos fueron criados en una familia bastante disfuncional, la relación entre ellos empieza a florecer y mejorar a medida de que los capítulos avanzan, aunque su forma de florecer es bastante cómica.

En conclusión, puedo decirte que es una serie que recomiendo. Un 9/10 para disfrutar maratoneando un domingo y divertirte mientras ves como Isla busca llegar a su meta mientras nada contra todos los imprevistos que se le presentan.

I hope you are well and happy. Time without visiting this community, I think because I had not managed to hook me with a series to come to give you my review, which did happen yesterday with: “A new play” or “Running Point”.

This series is just released on netflix, composed of 10 chapters of about 30 to 33 minutes each. Short but easy to watch and very funny (I make the remark since I have seen series with short chapters that are a torture to stay watching them) but this was not the case.

Running Point is a comedy series starring Kate Hudson, who plays Isla Gordon, one of the 4 children of the owner of the Los Angeles Waves, a basketball team that is going through a rough patch in the season. She is in charge of the charity area, since she had a somewhat misguided and partying youth, although it is noteworthy that among her siblings she is the most knowledgeable about basketball but being a woman was not appreciated for positions of power by her father.

Isla's journey in search of leading the Waves to improve their numbers and enter the playoffs begins when her older brother Cam has an accident due to being under the influence of drugs and must leave the presidency of the Waves, leaving Isla in charge, since he considers that she is the one who can best carry the baton.

A phrase that caught my attention, which although it makes me laugh is a reality for many women in the world, is what Brenda Song says to Isla with her character Ali Lee: "I love you, my friend, you will be the best president, but do not spoil it, because when a man makes a mistake: ‘it's okay, because he is acclimating to the position’, they will say, but women from the beginning must be perfect before the others ”.

And this phrase has a lot of weight on the development of the series, where Isla must work using her cunning and intelligence to solve many situations such as sponsorships, contracts, problematic players, that the team unites and manages to improve and advance to the playoffs in an industry full of men who believe that because she is a woman she cannot dominate the subject of basketball and business.

Isla navigates the scenarios with grace and fun, which makes the series easy to watch and comical. Another important point is the family theme, that although Isla and her siblings were raised in a rather dysfunctional family, the relationship between them begins to blossom and improve as the chapters progress, although their way of blossoming is quite comical.

In conclusion, I can tell you that it is a series that I recommend. A 9/10 to enjoy marathoning on a Sunday and have fun while watching how Isla seeks to reach her goal while swimming against all the unforeseen events that come her way.
