First mini lettering workshop #FBF / Primer mini taller de lettering (ESP-ENG)

Espero que se encuentren bien y felices. Estaba organizando mi próximo taller y recordé cuando hice mi primer mini taller. Fue en el 2022, aunque muchos me habían preguntado acerca de si daba talleres, no consideraba que tuviera los conocimientos necesarios para enseñarle a alguien acerca de mi hobbie (en ese momento era un hobbie), cuando me contactó una chica del rotaract para que la ayudara.

Ana, la chica del rotaract, me pidió que le ayudará a dar un mini taller de lettering para las pacientes del albergue oncológico de mi ciudad. Al principio no me creí capaz, pero ella estaba segura de que haría una actividad bonita para aquellas mujeres que estaban pasando una situación nada bonita pero que con frases positivas y motivadoras pudieran ayudarse en momentos difíciles.

Con la seguridad de Ana, acepte y me prepare. Recuerdo que estudié mucha teoría, preparé una presentación en power point y algunas hojas de práctica. Me río al pensar que hice una exposición super larga y no dio casi tiempo de practicar, aun así las pacientes del albergue fueron muy receptivas conmigo y disfrutaron la actividad.

Esta primera experiencia fue el comienzo para mi haciendo talleres de lettering y agradezco haber tenido esa oportunidad que me permitió iniciar, crecer y sobre todo creer en mí y mi capacidad de enseñar sobre algo que me apasiona.

I hope you are well and happy. I was organizing my next workshop and I remembered when I did my first mini workshop. It was in 2022, although many had asked me about giving workshops, I didn't consider that I had the knowledge to teach someone about my hobby (at that time it was a hobby), when I was contacted by a girl from the rotaract to help her.

Ana, the rotaract girl, asked me to help her to give a mini lettering workshop for the patients at the cancer shelter in my city. At first I didn't think I was capable, but she was sure that I would do a nice activity for those women who were going through a not so nice situation but that with positive and motivating phrases they could help themselves in difficult moments.

With Ana's assurance, I accepted and prepared myself. I remember that I studied a lot of theory, prepared a power point presentation and some practice sheets. I laugh to think that I made a super long presentation and gave almost no time to practice, yet the patients at the shelter were very receptive to me and enjoyed the activity.

This first experience was the beginning for me doing lettering workshops and I am grateful to have had that opportunity that allowed me to start, grow and above all believe in myself and my ability to teach about something I am passionate about.
