Celebrando el día del padre con mi abuelo (ESP-ENG)

Espero que se encuentren bien, felices y que hayan podido celebrar con sus papás este domingo. Este domingo se celebró el día del padre, y aunque mi papá se encuentra fuera del país, está mi abuelo y mis tíos, que han sido figuras importantes en mi vida.

Para celebrarlo nos reunimos a almorzar en casa de mi abuelo. Mi tía preparó una crema de auyama y un delicioso pasticho que acompañamos con pancitos tostados con mantequilla, ajo y cilantro. El almuerzo estuvo divino aunque no hicimos nada más que comer y conversar. De postre tuvimos una torta de piña, que aunque no soy fan, admito que estuvo deliciosa.

Tal vez fue una reunión muy sencilla, pero no puedo dejar pasar por debajo de la mesa cuando tengo tanto que agradecer por tener a mi abuelo y poder disfrutar de su compañía, que se que es más que feliz de tenernos en su casa así no estemos haciendo nada. Y yo también soy muy feliz de poder compartir con él, le agradezco sus llamadas día sí y día no, sus chismes y cuentos, además de las historias de todo lo que inventa y no cuenta, pero mis tios si me chismean (mi abuelo siempre dice que él se porta bien aunque mis tíos digan lo contrario), como todo señor mayor le gusta inventar. Le debo mucho por todo lo que se que por amor hizo por mí, y me gustaría poder agradecérselo mejor y más seguido.

Mi abuelo no es fan de las fotos, no le gusta reírse, pero siempre que yo esté de payasa, él me dará alguna foto épica y graciosa. Es eso lo que lo hace único y por lo que lo amo.

I hope you are well, happy and that you were able to celebrate with your dads this Sunday. This Sunday was Father's Day, and although my dad is out of the country, my grandfather and uncles, who have been important figures in my life, are there.

To celebrate we gathered for lunch at my grandfather's house. My aunt prepared a cream of pumpkin soup and a delicious pasticho that we accompanied with toasted bread with butter, garlic and cilantro. Lunch was divine although we did nothing more than eat and talk. For dessert we had a pineapple cake, which although I am not a fan, I admit it was delicious.

Maybe it was a very simple meeting, but I can't let it go under the table when I have so much to be thankful for having my grandfather and being able to enjoy his company, I know he is more than happy to have us in his house even when we are not doing anything. And I am also very happy to be able to share with him, I thank him for his calls day in and day out, his gossip and stories, plus the stories of everything he invents and does not tell, but my uncles do gossip to me (my grandfather always says that he behaves well even if my uncles say otherwise), as any older man likes to invent. I owe him a lot for everything I know out of love he did for me, and I wish I could thank him better and more often.

My grandfather is not a fan of photos, he doesn't like to laugh, but whenever I'm clowning around, he'll give me some epic and funny photo. That's what makes him unique and why I love him.
