We are a body and we would like to let you know who we are.

Girls Empowerment Mission Ghana (GEM Ghana) was registered on 26th February 2020 as a locally empowered independent non-profit organization to equip Girls and Women including women living with disabilities (WLWD), with innovative self-employable skills through information sharing and education to help them to address challenges that threaten them to freely live their dreams with dignity.

GEM Ghana is directed by its mission to inspire, educate and empower Girls and women to live their dreams with dignity and guided by its vision of a world where societies transform power and privileges for a few into equity and equality for all.

The organization values developmental approaches that involve Girls and Women including WLWD in their community development issues, which nurtures in them GEM Ghana’s core values that are critical to enable them to meaningfully contribute their quota to Ghana’s national development agenda; our Core Values are Self-determination, Empowerment, Inclusiveness, Collaboration and Cooperation.

GEM Ghana executes its empowerment activities under five (5) thematic areas that contribute to improving the general well-being of Girls and Women, including WLWD in its project areas. Its thematic areas are Health & Well-being, Education & Leadership, Human Rights & Security, Entrepreneurship & Skills Development and Environmental Protection & Conversation

Since GEM Ghana’s existence, the organization has served and continues to serve as a forum and an anchor point for Girls and Women including (WLWD), living in rural and peri-urban communities of Ghana, where they are inspired, educated, and empowered to increase their opportunities to decent employment for them to freely live their dreams with dignified.

It has engaged many girls and young women in rural and peri-urban areas of the Northern Region through its community outreach programs, social media handles, and radio to provide information and education on issues that affect them.

In our project areas, there has been a significant increase in information and education amongst Girls and Women on improving their health, nutrition, livelihoods, and general well-being.

As an organization of such, we seem to find a way to reach out to the world to show what we have been doing. A platform where we can have a voice to share and do everything without fear. @abdul01 gave us a lecture and we saw how well we could thrive and also develop ourselves to get members of this ecosystem who would like to be a part of us or partner with us to keep changing lives. We will share every it of our story here. Now we have a way to let the world hear of our works.
