BLEACH PRINTING- From Sketch to Ramp!

Bleach printing , a surface ornamentation technique , which I used to create this garment.

As usual, my first step was sketching out my ideas (though i created something different in the end)
That was because when the fabric was created, it looked so beautiful that i decided not to use it in some parts but as a whole jacket.
These were my hand illustrated sketches.

After, the sketching part , I moved forward towards sampling .
I made this sample using bleach (the one we use as fabric whitener)

And further decided to do this technique with taping in tartan format.
So first , i taped out the fabric in checks using Paper tape
Secondly, i places some real leaves on the fabric , (no tree was harmed during the process, I went to various nursery and collected the waste leaves)
Thirdly, After the leaves were placed, I sprayed bleach on the whole fabric .
Finally , removed the leaves from the fabric and after the bleach was set it created the impression of leaf while the rest of the portion was bleached.

This is how i created the fabric surface .
It took me 4 days to do that , for about 10 meters of the fabric !
But in the end it was worth it , I must say !

And the final look after it was stiched look so on point.
The cut , the print , the formation , everything was just so perfect.
I know that you are also excited for the final look , just the way I was when it was created .

About the model :
So He is a friend of mine , as I had 2 garments to display , I choose him for the bleached garment

Fabric : Pure Khadi
Garment: A short kurta with Printed blazer jacket paired with Straight fit pants .
That is how the process went and the final look was attained !
