Not much planned. The heat here makes fishing a downer. Probably work on the yard and flowers in the evenings. Mostly watch the Euro2024 games to stay in the cool and drink a brew or two.

It's going to be cold here but that's ok...I'll do some work on my computer tomorrow, (after getting back from the range), maybe hit a cafe later for a read and a coffee and Sunday I have to head to mall (hate it) to pick up some stuff and maybe have a bite to eat. Pretty laid back.

Yup. Biggest issue today would be to handle money though (no light = no internet = no digital money, including credit cards etc). We'd quickly go back to paper, metals or barter; or at least until we adjust to off-grid generation. But you mean no electricity at all, right?

I don't think that would be a bad thing...back to basics. Some wouldn't make it but Charles Darwin's natural selection is there for a reason.
Population would drastically decrease as social unrest, hunger, and more serious medical interventions (without electricity) increased.
Yep, and that would be a good thing. Too many people. It would force people back to basics and those without skills and self reliance would not fare so well.

You are right. Yesterday(?) I joined another art group...And today I left it because every second post was created by AI. Those AI images were getting hundreds of likes as well...And many people were complaining that AI art is not recognized as art.
AI is shit...it's not people being creative, it's being being dumb.
One person was saying that normal artist start selling their art at around 500 dollars and he is ,,only'' getting 35 dollars for AI created prints. As someone who has never sold a piece for as much as 500 and has sold for 20 and 50 eur(and gifted many pieces away) I feel no sympathy for that AI ,,artist''.
My dad was an artist so I understand it somewhat. Sitting back and letting AI (the computer) make a picture doesn't seem like a human creation at all, but people would argue with me on that I guess.
I enjoy making art but know little about art. Could you please check this post and tell me what style my paintings are? I only know they are not realistic.

I think there's nothing wrong with creating your own name.
My dad used to say, there's no bad art, just art.
What I guess he meant is art is unique to the creator or the observer and can't really be defined as easily and conveniently as good or bad. I think the same goes for how it is categorised...art just is, and that it exists should be enough.

We live is abject darkness in a modern world in part of Africa. We only hear that nations have celebrated tens of years experiencing no power outage. To us, it is not possible because down here, nothing like that exists.
Yeah, Australia has a very stable power grid and it's rare for the electricity to drop out which is great. Of course, many other countries don't enjoy that benefit for many reasons I guess.
For Austrialia and parts of Europe and the Americas, it is understandable when there is power outage. Here in sub-Saharan Africa, power supply is a huge failure. There has never been a time when we enjoyed power supply for ten day consecutively in the last ten to twenty years.
Why is the power so bad there in your opinion?

Floating aloof in a pond
Flying away
when winter has come.
I met a duck who didn't give a fuck
He stayed in his pond never going beyond
He didn't want to fly there's nothing in the sky
Just float and stay safely on the ground

having feathers sometimes isn't enough
to rise to the sky, so they just swoon
There once was a bird named moo moo

her wings were to weak

Sometimes good things happen in the dark though...or with the light on.
It continues to bet on the variety of topics and I think it's good because it generates more creativity.
Speaking of creativity, I think it's great the way you started because beyond the quality of the poem, what is really interesting is the different way of starting a work.
Sometimes I get carried away and try to make poetry and if the recipient likes it or I feel good doing it I am more than satisfied.
My favorite themes are related to education for the future, living with or without electricity and solving a mystery.
But, I must participate in a topic and education is one of my passions, so I think that's where my participation will be.

I believe a.i. is only going to be abused and used as a weapon. And that will destroy any good that could be done by it.

Rhyming is about timing, not miming or climbing. Ok, not about timing at all, or being tall or taking a fall, one just needs to find words that sound the same, make it a game, not to try would be a shame. 🤔
Actually I have tried it, but I haven't dared to share it, it's something else on my to-do list. Thanks for that, now I have a better concept of what rhyme is in poetry.
