New and unused

==-=-.jpg

My new Wirex VISA card arrived this week, a replacement for the last which had expired months ago; I don't use it so hadn't realised it was expired until I opened the Wirex App on my phone. I was going to let it go, not renew it, but it had a balance so figured I'd better get a new one. That was a couple weeks ago and now it's here.

Since I got into crypto currency back in 2017 I haven't used any to make purchases other than a few tiny purchases totaling $100 AUD to make sure the cards work, this Wirex one and my crypto.com VISA also. They worked.

I'm fortunate to have bought BTC back when it was a lot cheaper than it is now and have other crypto currencies, Hive amongst them...I'm not interested in using any at this stage though because it may inhibit my future - I believe prices will increase.

I have a fair amount held, lot's really, but selling it now won't change my life dramatically enough to prompt me to use it unless I really had to, which I do not. Should it double or more in value though, that would significantly and positively impact my life so it's with that in mind I hold what I have and my cards remain unused.

I initially got the Wirex and crypto.com VISA cards just for the hell of it and to position myself to rapidly shift crypto currency, and be able to use it, wherever in the world I might be. I've not had to do it but it feels right to be prepared and flexible as one never knows what the future may hold.

Do you have a crypto VISA card and have you used it? I know so many of the people on Hive spend their earnings even now when the price is the pittance it is - which is likely to bring regret down the track when prices increase and they hold no volume...I also know that many people have no measures in place to deal with their crypto as far as using and trading it, protecting it, paying taxes (yep, those apply) and other such things. So, *what's your deal? Feel free to comment.

Hi Galen, my experience with crypto cards is very limited, I had the Binance card until they withdrew it. I don't know if Binance has ever had a VISA of their own again. At the moment I don't have any 💳 crypto, nor any intention to have one, for now.

I did spend some cryptos at the time on buying some ticket for travel. Now I am also of the opinion that it is not a good time to spend them making purchases nor a good time to part with them.

Have a nice weekend.

You're completely right, it's not a great time to be spending crypto with the prices that low...but so many people do which makes no sense to me.

I am of the same opinion.
But there seem to be quite a few people who think differently.

Have a great weekend, although I seem to recall (I may be wrong) that you commented to me that you were going to have little time for leisure.

Yeah mate, I'm flat out to be honest, a few moments here and there to eat and sleep (both are much needed) and the rest is work. It's ok though, it'll be worth my while.

I'm glad to know that the effort is worth it.

Hi!!

Actually in my country we don't handle such cards, in fact we have been kicked out of many good places to trade cryptos, block/embargo they say, nevertheless we try.
Right now I have almost no cryptocurrency, very few in some wallets that I don't think will mark anything significant in my future...but I do try to add some Hive that one day will trigger its value in a chart.
In my country the government tried to regulate through the bank the use of crypto but people have not made use value of them...if they fail to save and return your money in physical much less digital ...let them go fry tuzas as we say around here...😅

There's a lot of regulation going on and that's ok I guess, countries gave to pay for things like infrastructure somehow right? Taxes help. I think it's good to be saving some crypto at the moment, not spending it, because having some held will mean greater gains when prices go up.

Have a nice weekend.

I am sure you are right in what you say, in all countries taxes are used in favor of their own development and so on...except in mine...that is why I was saying that people do not trust the banking regulations in my country....
I wish you a good weekend.

I have the crypto.com card and the gate.io as well. Quite interestingly just yesterday I was trying to get my hands on a wirex one but I am having problems with receiving a confirmation email from them. I will probably try again today. From all the crypto cards
i used the Binance one was the best. Especially for cash withdrawals.

I've done test transactions on both my cards and they both worked if course, but I've not used them since, a few years in fact. It's good knowing they work though. Odd you're having trouble getting the confirmation email from Wirex.

I think this is my first time of being made aware of it’s existence that is the crypto card but glory for making me know of such a card and am willing to learn more about it.

I have to also start storing some crypto for the future.

Yeah, get on it, no point spending it all at this point when it's worth almost nothing.

The truth is that I don't have specific cards for cryptocurrencies. If in the past on another platform, I earned some crypto, it was the first time I used them, I took them out of there and did trading, I had to learn. So I quadrupled what I took out and then I withdrew it to the bank and reinvested it. The positive thing is that I learned to use some of the system and to do trading. It wasn't a lot of money, something like 60 dollars that I withdrew in crypto, but it gave me some experience. That was almost 4 years ago.

Quadrupled. Seems like a good thing that's like seven times more right? 🥴🤣

For a first time it was not bad at all, from 60 dollars I took it to 280. And I learned something new!

I have 100% of my wealth in crypto and precious metals. When I need fiat, I exchange crypto with my local grocer. I know it's a bad time to be selling crypto but the sort of life we lead doesn't require purchasing very much and I like to stay out of the system as much as is possible.

Sounds legit and I get it.

I have metals, other investments also, I also grow vegetables and fruits which I consume and trade with other like-minded people for things I don't grow. It's cool, although doesn't mean I can ditch the shops altogether unfortunately.

Not a good time for exchanging crypto for goods but if you have the ability and are ok with it then why not I guess.

Do you have a crypto VISA card and have you used it?

Yeah I do. Mine's crypto.com. It's just another option, benefits wise, based on the current tier I think it's 2.5% rebate in the form of crypto. If crypto goes up, my rebate actually is higher mathematically, and vice versa.

Seems like the right way to go huh?

I think I signed up for the Crypto.com one, but I never got the physical card. I think it is something that I just have in the app. I don't think I would ever use it, but I wanted to have it just in case. Right now the prices still aren't high enough for me. I should log in at some point again and see if I still have it or if it has expired.

Yeah, might pay to check if it's still active, never know when you may need it.

A little more time, so it will be four years, since I entered the crypto world.
During that time I only bought coins, which they say invested. I have never withdrawn even $1 from crypto. Because that's my plan, not to touch everything I've bought or what I'm buying until 2036 😁 (especially when the prices aren't what they should be in order for me to get out of my investment with a good profit). I almost ordered a card - it was a Crypterium card (as soon as I stepped into crypto) but gave up when I made this plan. I don't need it for now.

Hive is my only crypto. I don't have anything prepared. LOL Yay me !

Sometimes I think one day I might need it, but would have to learn all that other stuff if I wanted to take it out. Other times I think one day I will get a wild hair and give it all away. What ??? I do funny stuff sometimes.

I got the crypto.com visa a while ago and used it for everything to collect the reward cro coins. It was great at the start but they kept increased to staked amount required and reducing the rewards. I still have it, a very cool metal card but I have gone back to just using my ANZ card with Qantas points. I thought crypto.com would be good to spend any crypto gains without being taxed but I think it is operating just like a normal bank. It is a shame crypto.com did not seem to have hive on there system. I have not heard of wirex I will have to check it out.

Yeah, they sold out a little I guess, that's why they make over a billion dollars in revenue huh?

I have a VISA debit card at one of the big banks which utilises my own money and that suits me fine.
