Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? Hay situaciones que por sí solas conllevan un efecto negativo, pero que en conjunto con algún contexto en específico se configuran particularmente terribles. El estar viendo este año académico en la universidad a través de la modalidad a distancia presentando varios de los parciales en línea usando plataformas determinadas pues no ha resultado ser nada sencillo, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta el dato público y notorio de esta falta de señal en la conexión de internet que he mencionado en tantas ocasiones que he perdido noción de la cantidad exacta, pero es complicado no hablar sobre ello cuando afecta mi entorno en muchos sentidos ocasionándome problema tras problema. En este capítulo trágico, justo al momento de estar terminando un parcial… la conexión a internet decidió dejarme sin su apoyo, impidiéndome responder las preguntas que me faltaban para terminar de hacer los últimos intentos por completar todo.
Greetings to all members of the community, how are you? There are situations that by themselves have a negative effect, but in conjunction with a specific context are particularly terrible. To be watching this academic year at the university through the distance mode presenting several of the partial online using certain platforms has not been easy, especially considering the public and notorious fact of this lack of signal in the internet connection that I have mentioned so many times that I have lost track of the exact amount, but it is difficult not to talk about it when it affects my environment in many ways causing me problem after problem. In this tragic chapter, just when I was finishing a midterm... the internet connection decided to leave me without its support, preventing me from answering the questions I needed to finish the last attempts to complete everything.
El parcial comenzaba a las siete (7) de la noche para terminar la hora después, consistía de veinte (20) preguntas de selección simple que de simples lo que tienen es el nombre porque al mínimo descuido en la interpretación fácilmente están malas las respuestas. Estaba haciendo un esfuerzo por responder con algunas dudas pues no se me está dando demasiado bien estudiar este año, sin embargo, con mente positiva me encontraba haciendo uso del conocimiento adquirido. Para cuando me faltaban unos doce (12) minutos disponibles para responder las preguntas con unas siete (7) de estas a la espera me apareció un mensaje que decía que algo había salido mal y que recargara la ventana, esto se presenta por lo general cuando la conexión de internet se cae por lo que se necesita refrescar la página para que vuelva a agarrar el sistema, de lo contrario nada va a cargar, incluyendo las últimas respuestas. Después de que intento hacerlo, no carga la ventana por nada del mundo, así durante mucho tiempo.
The partial began at seven (7) in the evening to finish the hour later, it consisted of twenty (20) simple selection questions that are simple in name only because at the slightest carelessness in the interpretation the answers are easily wrong. I was making an effort to answer with some doubts because I am not doing too well studying this year, however, with a positive mind I was making use of the knowledge acquired. By the time I had about twelve (12) minutes left available to answer the questions with about seven (7) of these waiting for me a message appeared saying that something had gone wrong and to reload the window, this usually occurs when the internet connection is down so you need to refresh the page to grab the system again, otherwise nothing will load, including the last answers. After I try to do this, it won't load the window for a long time.
Cuando me doy cuenta que ha pasado un minuto sin que nada se muestre comienzo a entrar en una crisis nerviosa porque me quedaba poco tiempo, es real que cuando estás presentando algún examen el tiempo pasa demasiado rápido y en menos de un santiamén el tiempo se terminó. Además, esta es la materia más importante de mi año académico, necesitaba asegurarme de sacar una nota que me permitiera ir sin miedo a los finales porque de lo contrario solamente tendría una oportunidad de pasarla, dígase en la oportunidad de reparación, que nunca es aconsejable, y tengo experiencias malas presentando aquí así que me da demasiado miedo. Traté por todas las formas con los diferentes medios que tengo para obtener conexión a internet, con los datos de todas las líneas telefónicas —tengo tres— de distintas operadores, usando el WiFi portable… no resultó. No fue sino unas horas después que pude acceder al sistema para ver si había recogido las respuestas que había hecho, afortunadamente fue así.
When I realize that a minute has passed without anything showing up I start to go into a nervous breakdown because I had little time left, it is real that when you are presenting any exam time goes by too fast and in less than a jiffy the time is over. Besides, this is the most important subject of my academic year, I needed to make sure to get a grade that would allow me to go without fear to the finals because otherwise I would only have one chance to pass it, let's say in the repair opportunity, which is never advisable, and I have bad experiences presenting here so it is too scary for me. I tried every way with the different means I have to get internet connection, with the data from all the phone lines -I have three- from different operators, using the portable WiFi... it didn't work. It wasn't until a few hours later that I was able to access the system to see if it had picked up the answers I had made, fortunately it did.
El profesor escribió después por el grupo de WhatsApp sobre la posibilidad de solución para aquellos que tuvieron inconvenientes para presentar pues al perecer habían varios en esta situación, sin embargo, para el momento de escribirle la nota que había sacado ya estaba disponible en el sistema. En cuando supe que con todas las respuestas que había podido completar obtuve un nueve (9) de calificación me sentí más tranquila, podría sonar algo extraño pero considerando que ya llevaba con el primer parcial un quince (15) esta nota me sirve para poder presentar los exámenes finales, por lo cual aunque le escribí al profesor de igual manera fue para asegurarme de que esa era mi nota y el sistema la había tomado correctamente aunque mi examen se entregó tarde debido a la falta de conexión a internet. Tengo entendido que todo está correcto, debería de tener la nota cargada en el sistema de la universidad pronto para sentirme segura con la situación, esperando la fecha para presentar de nuevo.
The professor then wrote through the WhatsApp group about the possibility of a solution for those who had problems to present the exam because apparently there were several in this situation, however, by the time I wrote to him the grade I had obtained was already available in the system. When I knew that with all the answers that I had been able to complete I got a nine (9) grade I felt calmer, it might sound a little strange but considering that I already had a fifteen (15) with the first partial, this grade is useful to be able to take the final exams, so although I wrote to the teacher in the same way was to make sure that this was my grade and the system had taken it correctly although my exam was delivered late due to the lack of internet connection. I understand that everything is correct, I should have the grade loaded into the university system soon to feel confident with the situation, waiting for the date to submit again.
Ahora, por eso mismo de la peligrosidad de depender de estar haciendo un último esfuerzo por pasar la materia presentando en reparaciones tengo que intentar que al presentar el examen final no me pase lo mismo que les estoy comentando ya que sería una tragedia que por no poder terminar el examen debido a la conexión del internet, pues la nota no me alcance. Estoy manejando la posibilidad de trasladarme a un lugar distinto con mayor señal como he estado pensando desde el principio, pero es que no tengo familiares ni amigos que vivan en una zona donde la señal sea infalible y está mejor de a momentos, pero cualquier cosa puede pasar en este país, puede que nos vaya la luz en plena presentación del examen como algunas veces me han comentado. En fin, todavía tengo algo de tiempo para planificar lo que voy a hacer cuando establezcan una fecha segura del examen final que todavía no se ha comunicado, generalmente se hace a unas semanas antes de que llegue el período de exámenes de nuevo.
Now, because of the danger of depending on making a last effort to pass the subject by presenting in repairs, I have to try that when I present the final exam the same thing that I am telling you about does not happen to me, since it would be a tragedy that because of not being able to finish the exam due to the internet connection, the grade will not be enough for me. I am considering the possibility of moving to a different place with a better signal as I have been thinking since the beginning, but I do not have family or friends who live in an area where the signal is infallible and is better at times, but anything can happen in this country, we may lose power in the middle of the presentation of the exam as I have sometimes been told. Anyway, I still have some time to plan what I am going to do when they establish a certain date for the final exam which has not yet been communicated, it is usually done a few weeks before the exam period arrives again.
