Weekend fun at the Sungei Buloh Wetlands

It was months ago when I first visited this place to have a tranquil walk around nature. It's a piece of nature in a city as busy as Singapore. I'm quite impressed that there are places like this where you can be one with nature and won't feel the hassle and bustle of the city. It feels remote but there are amenities that only a city has which is amazing because they can integrate walkways and viewing decks without disturbing the environment. I would say that it's a carefully planned development and the best part about it is that it's free.

I guess the stress of the city lifestyle has got into me and I feel the need to relieve some of those stress by visiting a nature reserve. Sungei Buloh Wetlands is an exceptional place for someone to hear the sound of the chirping of birds, smell the mud, and feel the comfort of walking under the shadows of tall trees.

Scattered around the nature reserve are benches and viewing decks that are perfect for observing the plants, trees, sky, and the creatures that roam around the area.

This nature reserve is a place for mudskippers, herons, and fishes so there are plenty of ponds in this area. It's the whole point of this wetland reserve, is to provide a safe environment for freshwater creatures to dwell and find home in this modern city.

The most impressive view deck in the wetland reserve is the Kingfisher viewing deck. It is shaped like an onion and is brown. The decks are designed well to blend with the nature surrounding them. The creatures in the area are not bothered by it but they seem to know that it's for people so they don't go in it. I guess the elevation of these viewing decks is high enough for the creatures on the ground to not notice it. I think it's the best spot in the nature reserve to observe the beauty of the surroundings.

The view at one of the viewing decks has one of the spectacular views of Singapore or is it Malaysia? I know for sure that the border of Singapore and Malaysia is just a strip away from each other.

As for any other good moments in this adventure, it has to come to an end and I have to go back home to the city. As much as I wanted to stay further, I guess it only feels special because I only have the chance to experience the serenity of this place for a brief moment.

I'm quite sure that I will be back to this place sometime in the future. See you soon Sungei Buloh!

My journey to the world of places.

Whoa, this is such a good find of a nice place. And it's commendable thay they built somethinf in there without destroying much the already beautiful surroundings. That's a plus for that place.
